My first year I drove trashy groomer rentals, and that summer I picked up a pair of Rossi Soul 7 HD’s from a shop who was shedding all their demo’s. A coworker was a part time employee there, so he got me first dibs before the sale opened to the public. I got a pair in really great condition for hella cheap.</p>

<p>They were the perfect ski for getting me from beginner to intermediate. I could literally go anywhere on the resort without worrying all that much about what I was skiing.</p>

<p>I just got back out this year, and I’m starting to feel insecure, as stupid as that is. All these redditors trashing on it, calling it the “dad ski” or “ultimate jerry ski”. I sit on the chairlift with these teenagers and 20-somethings, only a few years older than me, talking about their cool-looking brand new skis with all this shit like “stiffness”, “playfulness”, “chatter”, “floatiness”, “crud-busting”, etc. Like I don’t know what half this shit means, and I’m rocking these beat up “dad skis”. </p>

<p>Am I missing out on something? Like am I just being exposed to dumb ski consumerism and elitism, or is there actual reason to start considering an upgrade/sidegrade besides my fragile newbie ego being hurt?</p>

 You were saying that these have a 17-meter turn radius. Yeah, 17-meter, but they can do a nice long turn and they carve really well on short turns too. But this is my favorite condition to demo a ski like this in because if it's doing well on a day like today, you know it's going to excel if there's any snow on the ground. Oh, for sure

 But like you said, even with that lightweight tip, it doesn't shatter because they found ways to reinforce the whole shape there to keep it rigid, especially torsionally. Wow. Well, it was just phenomenal. It's quick, but you can ski it in long turns

Hey guys, I am a progressing intermediate skier in Utah and am now comfortable on most blue runs. I have Salomon Stance 80s but am thinking about adding a second ski for powder days. All of the 110+ waist width skis look like they would be too hard to turn so I am thinking about moving up to a 95 to 105 wide ski. I am researching the Salomon QST 98, Bent Chester 100, Rustler 10 etc. But am overwhelmed by the options. There are some used demos of the 2020 QST 99s near me at a decent price but I don't know if I should pull the trigger. Thoughts?

This ski's not demanding, it's not going to be the most hardcore ripping, charging ski, but for the majority of skiers that want all-mountain, they want something that's versatile, that's easy to ski, that's got that quick nimble feel, and this has it in boatloads.
