 We also have Salomon's CFX blend which is a fiber layer combining carbon and flax material and it's woven together and what that does is it just really provides a lot of strength and stability without sacrificing weight. So that combination of the carbon, flax and full poplar wood core really creates a super strong but playful foundation.  Again, geared towards a more advanced lady skier, I definitely could put a high intermediate athletic lady on this. With a 92 waist, you are looking at a more approachable ski than say the 106 waist width, but it is relatively aggressive with its skiing ability. But again, that turn, that rocker, tip and tail shape is going to give you a little bit ease into the turn and ease out of the turn. So it makes it a little bit more approachable than a full metal ski or even a frontside carving ski

 So this was a great compromise for me because I wanted something that was a little bit lighter. I even put a Solomon Shift binding on it and use it for my uphill ski because I wanted something a little bit more aggressive and stable for my downhill experience, but I didn't want anything that was too heavy.  It's a tongue twister on that one. Another great ski from Salomon in their QST lineup. This is their woman's version. It's 92 underfoot, so it's a much more versatile ski than their larger versions that they have

 Laying the skis on top of each other, you can see that there's definitely some good shape for on-piece carving. Camber underfoot, a little bit of tail, and a decent amount of tip rocker. That tip rocker is going to get you into that turn easily. You're going to hold the turn and flex through the turn through the middle of the ski, and that little bit of turn tail is definitely going to help you release the tails easily

 However, I did jump in the moguls. My style is to like hop turn and weave through moguls and they felt heavier for me in that kind of setting, but then when I got right out onto the groomer they were a really fun ski and a really energetic ski. There were times I generally ride pretty far forward on my skis. There were times when I felt like they kind of bucked me back a little bit, but they'd be really nice for someone who really likes riding groomers and might weave in and out of the trees and bumps once in a while

For someone who loves sticking in moguls all the time, I would probably go with something that's a little more poppy and agile and a little less damp and smooth just because of the general nature of needing to be on your toes through bumps. The QST LOX 92 has a decent amount of rocker in the tips and quite a bit of camber underfoot

 They're a smooth rider. They have some rubber actually kind of in the tips. It's called like a rubber pad and then they have quite a bit of carbon which makes the ski a little more damp and a little heavier. The effect that that had on me skiing was that my carves on a groomer felt really smooth and really rhythmic, pretty stable, pretty not too much chatter

The Salomon Lux 92 is an approachable, dependable ski for progressing intermediates who love to dabble both on and off piste.  With a waist width of 92mm and short turning radius, the Lux shines on groomers and hardpack but can hold its own in fresh powder and variable snow.  A lightweight poplar wood core maximizes pop and response while saving on weight, making this ski a great touring option and true quiver killer.
