I’m looking at a new trail shoe to work into my rotation and wanted to see if any had any opinions or feedback on the shoes listed on the following shoes. 
New Balance Fresh Foam V1
Sacouny Xodus 10
Saucony Xodus 11

I currently use Speedgoat 4’s(on my 2nd pair) which have been great for training, but exploring some new options. Noticing this 2nd pair is wearing down way quicker than my last. (1st pair got over 400+, this pair feeling flat at a little over 200miles) 

I’ve got pair of Lone Peak 5’s as well, but after some long run testing it appears they are good for me up to about 15 miles. Legs and feet feel sore the next day. 

I’m training for a 50 miler in November and would prefer to find something I can use through training and then on race day. 

I live in Utah so the trails here are pretty much dry for now until winter comes back, some can be really technical, but I don’t do much scrambling.

Nike Wildhorse 7 (150 miles in)

Training for a race in November - 25k / \~3,500ft , which is the most distance/elevation I'll have done at this point. Need something that has enough grip and control for tackling technical uphills, but enough cushion to provide constant downhills.

Currently using HOKA Challenger ATR for my road-to-trail runs and Merrell MTL Skyfire for the more technical runs. I am looking for more cushion than the Merrell's, but my HOKA's have too much drop and cushion for what I was planning on for the race.

I tried on some On Cloudultra's and Salomon Sense Ride 4's at my local running store, but I don't know  how they would perform on trails. Bushido's were cool but definitely want more cushion than those. Any advice is appreciated!

I'm running a 50 mile race in April (Manchester to Liverpool in England). As far as I'm aware it's a mix of canal path so pavement and some trail. Does anyone have any recommendations for what shoe to buy? I've been looking at the Nike Pegasus Trail 3 as the normally Peg 38's work really for me as well as the Hoka ATR.

What do you all think?

Road / Trail shoe.

Hey All,

I was hoping one you shoe geeks could recommend be a good trail runner for some long miles, more specifically a 100 miler I'm training for.

I'm looking for something with a fair amount of cushion that will help my feet, legs and back feel a little less achy

For my last long race, 50 miler, I trained and raced in entirely 1 shoe: NB GOBI V3. - that I have loved but found to not have enough cushion.

I have recently bought Sacony Peregrine 10 ST and found them to heavy and not quite as cushioned as I would have hopped.

I've been looking at Altra Lone Peak's or Timps but don't want to swap to a zero drop mid tranning. Hoka One One has soon good cushioned shoes as well but I'm not trying to spend more than  $120 on a shoe.

I'm super picky about shoes but any suggestion would be appreciated!

Tried Salomon. Had to return because they’re too narrow for my feet. Their wide option is always out of stock for my side. 

Looked at The North Face FutureLight and it seems their tech isn’t as good as Gore-Tex. 

I’m using trail running mostly for, walking, running on dirt road or light hiking in wet condition. Bot going to use in pouring rain so I’ll avoid the waterproof or no waterproof debate. 

What’s your experience with Nike Pegasus Gore-Tex or Hoka11?

Trail running shoes for wide feet

I'm looking to buy a daily trail running shoe. I run 4-6 miles, 3-5x/week, occasionally 8-10 miles. Most of my running is on trails, yet I'm running in regular running shoes, so I'm ready to spring for 1-2 trail running shoes. I'm considering the Salomon Slab Ultra 3 vs. Salomon Ultraglide. I read and watched a ton of reviews, and I'm still not sure which ones to get. I tried going to the store, but no one seems to have the Slab Ultra 3s.

I may also get a pair of the Nike Wildhorse 7. I tried them on in store and they felt great. They are only $90 which seems very reasonable.
