I recently used the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2, which was okay (not a great keyboard, garish color). The size and screen were quite nice, but without Linux support, I had to give it up. Finally, I also looked at the Acer Spin 713 (2021) but it is so bulky and expensive (and loud?) that it does not seem like a great option.

Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2: ~$699 (the screen is wow, speakers not great, specs less than the Acer 713). 3. Google Pixelbook Go: ~$649-$849 (mediocre specs, great speakers, great fit & finish, great camera). Currently the nerd is me is leaning towards the Acer 713 because of it's superior specs and versatility.

So while there are reasons certain folks might prefer Google’s device (it has a better keyboard, it’s thinner and lighter), I think the $699 Galaxy Chromebook 2 is the better value among the two. For just $50 more, you get a better processor, more storage and RAM, a brilliant color, a convertible build, and a spectacular screen.

The good:. First off I love this thing, it's a massive improvement over my 5.4 lbs HP beater that I used my senior year of highschool and my freshman year of college. I put that thing through hell and it worked all the way up until a couple weeks ago. When I went shopping for a new laptop I found the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook for just 649 on Amazon, brand new, and right from Samsung.

Overall, we can't recommend the Celeron configuration of the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2—you'll be much happier with the perkier Core i3 model, though its $699 price will buy you any of several quicker, more desirable Chrome OS or Windows laptops.
