That's actually a pretty sad take. I really like the design of this phone, and with those features, it's actually a premium small phone; too sad that they priced it out of the market.

It is incredibly sad that the reviewer calls expandable storage a niche. That you can carry your data forward without faff when you upgrade is amazing and that you can keep everything without subscription to a cloud service is empowering. That this person is content to follow the trend of removing features to make phones less user friendly and less functional is honestly disheartening. 


I'm so fed up with tech obsessed people bending over to accept making phones worse to make them seem newer. This Pro Innovation Bias is punishing users and they're just saying "thank you daddy" for having choice and practicality removed.



I have the Xperia 1. That tall shape this person complains about makes the phone fantastic. The screen ratio means it fits more comfortably in hand and is amazing for multitasking. I can have YouTube or Twitch running on the top half of the screen while I message friends in the bottom half without closing the video repeatedly. It is clear this person isn't really comfortable with anything that doesn't conform to what they're told to like and aren't really trying to understand what it opens up. Yes outside of Netflix much content doesn't fill the whole screen but you know what, because we insisted on making the screen fit edge to edge without borders this means your fingers don't block content at the sides when holding it rotated. 



It is hard to even read their review as it feels clear they reviewed it reluctantly with bias. Sony has real problems with expanding their market and that's because they don't just shit out another Apple clone like Samsung. It is nice to have something different to choose from and we shouldn't push for everything to be the same.

Sony Xperia 5 II review: A decent phone you shouldn't buy

I'm not as disappointed in the size specifically of the 6 and 6 Pro, as I am for the entire lineup this year. With the 5a also being a large phone, there are no smaller choices. That combined with stocking issues with the 5 is a let down.

The Pixel 5 was the *perfect* size and form factor for me. Everything I ever wanted in a phone. And that front design is beautiful, those symmetrical bezels make it look so good.

One of the reasons I sent back the 5 is because it was too small. The 6 seems as though it will be even slightly bigger than the 3XL. Sounds good to me.

Just wait a year and get the Pixel 7, Google flip-flops so much they'll probably have a smaller one next year. Just like when the 5 came out and they said "the world doesn't need another $1k smart phone" and now the 6 is coming out and will probably cost that much if not more lol

I loved the pixel 2, it was compact enough for one hand use for my tiny hands. The pixel 4a has a similar body size, but the screen to body ratio is much higher. I wish there was another smaller pixel released, like a 5"-5.2" screen with minimal bezels, even if it was thicker.

Honestly I would rock a pixel the size of a Palm phone (the mini one) if it had long enough battery life. I don't need all the latest features, I want something small and portable with a clean Android experience that gets the latest updates. My Pixel 5 is about the largest phone I would carry from now on.

I hate it. The size of these phones and all newer ones releasing has me concerned because I don't want to purchase one that big. My pixel 5 is absolutely the largest phone I ever want to have again. It's the perfect size.

Super disappointed.  Original Pixel and the 4a are both too big, and 6 and the 5a are all even bigger.  What is wrong with people that they want these gigantic, heavy phones in their pocket?  Why is it so hard to get a lightweight, compact phone?

My phone is busted and I need a new one and refuse to go back to Apple so this is sort of my only option, but I will essentially no longer be able to use my phone with only one hand - I have the Pixel 3 now and even the Pixel 6 non Pro version is almost a full inch bigger (5.5 inches vs 6.4) and the Pro is .3 bigger on top of that.

Pixel 4a has about the maximum size I will take (5.8"). I hope Google will produce smaller models in future (Pixel 6 or onward), otherwise I have to consider moving to Iphone mini models. Big phones are just awkward ( I've had phones with over 6" earlier).

Don't get me wrong, i really like what the company is doing with the tech itself, i just don't understand why we have to have such a large base model. The smaller form factor has been a key motivator for me in pixels for so long and i just can't hide my disappointment when it goes away. It's been nice to not get handcuffed features in a smaller device like others have done, and to have the other of the "a* variants if we wanted to.

Anyway, trying to still see the positives here, which is that this is shaping up to be a really dope overall device that I'll almost definitely be preordering. But losing the telephoto upgrade and still having a significantly larger device than before... It's hitting me in the feels right now. I don't want to buy bigger pockets...

The smaller form factor has been a key motivator for me in pixels for so long and i just can&#39;t hide my disappointment when it goes away. It&#39;s been nice to not get handcuffed features in a smaller device like others have done, and to have the other of the &quot;a* variants if we wanted to.</p>

<p>Anyway, trying to still see the positives here, which is that this is shaping up to be a really dope overall device that I&#39;ll almost definitely be preordering. But losing the telephoto upgrade and still having a significantly larger device than before... It&#39;s hitting me in the feels right now. I don&#39;t want to buy bigger pockets...</p>
