Samsung QN90a is the closest you can get but it's the same price as the 77 A80J, so that doesn't really make sense. You'll want to look at the Sony X95j, or if even that is too expensive, X90j. Unfortunately there's not a ton to recommend here, but I'd say that's more due to the fact that OLED prices have dropped to the point where LCD options that aren't budget/midrange don't really make sense (in situations where burn-in/super bright rooms aren't relevant).

This isn't unique to me, there's a number of threads around the internet complaining about this exact problem (among other things). Samsung have recently released 2 firmware updates which have improved the situation but not fixed it. There's a couple of other smaller annoyances, eARC is wonky as hell, there's full screen backlight fluctuations with certain content, probably some other things I'm forgetting. Decided to give up with the Samsung and now requested a refund and I'm somewhat begrudgingly going with the Sony 85" X95J.

Personally I would buy the QN90A over the X90J. While the X90J isn't a bad TV, and it does have good HDR performance, the QN90A is in a different class.

Sweet view, but...omfg no. I can see the perfect reflection of your background in your current TV. You don't just need something bright, you need something *without* the X-Wide viewing layer!. X-Wide panels like the Sony X95J and Samsung QN90A score incredibly well on Rtings for measured reflections, but they scatter that light in a rainbow pattern all across the screen.
