Dell S3220DGF? I feel you. My PC is more powerful than my Xbox Series X, yet I haven't touched it in weeks since I got my BX because gaming on my Xbox looks so damn good. OLED is like looking through a window, with my LED I'm very aware I'm looking at a screen.

Yeah. I was on the ultrawide bandwagon, absolutely loved them. Gamez I played that supported them were also much better, my productivity was easier. I went through maybe... 2 or 3 ultrawides in 6 or 7 years. 

Then I got the 48" CX OLED at some point during the pandemic lol. Omg I can't go back. I just WISH Nvidia would for the drivers to allow us to use it in custom resolutions and keep the 10 bit color! It is so SO noticable.

I can't even game on my 32 inch 165 hz monitors anymore since i got an OLED

 It's bright, has rich colors and contrast, very good black levels, all the bells and whistles you can hope for. So why am I give this only 3 stars, you ask? Let me explain..

Hmhmh, in my country, the Oleds have been getter cheaper each gen, around 100-150 dollars or so each time, so not massive price cuts, but decreased nonetheless.

As for alternatives, a Samsung QLED? Oleds will be above it in scenarios where there is no big window of bright content, and the price delta isn't that big. And once you get in LCD land, you get back to backlight bleeding, blooming, poor viewing angles and so on...

Honestly, it's a pick yer poison type of thing.

My C8 65 is almost 2 yrs old. Screen looks new. So happy with my decision to buy. Bought a 5 yr extended warranty. Have over 3 yrs left on that. Fingers crossed I get many more years of use. Love LG.

You have to check your local laws. In the EU the seller must offer 2 years warrenty. But in the Netherlands for example an item must last a 'reasonable time' even beyond 2 years. For a tv <3 years is clearly not reasonable so they would be required to fix it for free.

Whatever the law, it will probably be a pain in the ass sadly.

I’m having the green haze problem on a B7 from 2018. On yellow screens there is a green cloud centre screen, a d a blue cloud on red screens. Actors’ faces all have a green tinge when near centre screen.

LG denies the problem despite many many reports on the web, and LG in my region refuses to help despite other regions replacing out of warranty screens as a courtesy for this problem. 

LG states that OLED should have a 100 000 hour life (panels), but this problem seems to show up around 4000 hrs onwards - mostly on 7 a d 8 series panels. Clearly a problem and it cripples 2 - 3 year old panels. Replacement costs as much as a new CX.

Use case: TV shows and movies only - no gaming, news or any other static content. 4-5 hours viewing each night.

Also leaves a super bitter taste for me. I don’t want another OLED if it’s a 3 year device, and QLED isn’t an amazing alternative. Panasonic Viera Plasma is still going strong after 9 years of daily use.

When I bought my LG OLED TV I thought to myself "yes, it's expensive but it's not like I need to buy one every two years, I take care of my devices and will use them until they're broken". Well, then …

I bought a 55C8 in April 2019 for around €1200. (An upgrade from a handed-down 32" LCD or watching TV on a PC monitor.)

In fall 2020 a vertical line of pixels started to shine brighter than they should, a very noticable defect in any scenes. I contacted customer support and within two weeks someone came and replaced the whole monitor of the TV.

Now last week, just days after the warranty period ended, the light must have shined in the perfect angle on the TV because I noticed what I thought were water droplets or big dust particles on the screen.

After some inspection where I noticed much more of those spots, it looks like it's those bubbles that are mentioned sometimes on this subreddit ([1](https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED/comments/g22b65/lg_c9_bubbling/), [2](https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED/comments/g22b65/lg_c9_bubbling/), [3](https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED/comments/e10bud/bubbles_under_glass_of_lg_c7/)).

(I am assuming that the replacement screen was faulty and dust was trapped behind the glass and my paranoid chain of thought makes me believe that they actively chose to use a sub-par replacement screen.)

I contacted customer support again and they told me

&gt; Not least due to the massive price drop in the flat screen sector, the scope for goodwill has been drastically reduced. Thus, already approx. 2 weeks after the expiration of the warranty period, such a service is only possible in special cases (e.g. pre-repairs).

&gt; We therefore ask for your understanding, if a regulation on the part of LG Electronics can unfortunately not take place in the present case.

Now, legally, of course, they are in the right. (I don't know what pre-repairs – or "Vor-Reparaturen" in my language – are supposed to be.)

However, seeing that these bubbles still happen on C9 TVs and after my experience with flickering and crushed blacks, panning stutter, the vertical line defect that got replaced and now those bubbles, I will have a hard time choosing an LG OLED again.

The 55CX costs about the same as my C8 (at the same time), I don't see any "massive price drops".

Now, those bubbles are not noticable during normal viewing but I fear that they will grow bigger and the potential dust under them will break the panel.

LG OLED only good for two years? Where do these bubbles come from?

 One for the Splitter and now I have to use the sound bar remote for volume. I was really hoping I could just use the TV remote as advertised. Oh well.  btw, I HATE the home screen, stays on forever when you turn the TV on

 The home screen is cluttered and confusing and it stays on forever it seems, blocking you from getting to the screen behind. Took digging in outside sources (YouTube) to find a way to turn that crap off. I'm sure SAMSUNG wants us to see the adverts (Why does a TV cost this much when it's being used as a billboard for SAMSUNG client Adverts?) so if you get one of these they don't make turning the Home Screen off intuitive. YouTube has several others who feel as I do about the Home Screen who can show you how to turn this brain melting clutter off

 Thankfully there are few things I'll use this TV for that don't use HDMI. Sadly, it means two more damned remotes cluttering the place. One for the Splitter and now I have to use the sound bar remote for volume. I was really hoping I could just use the TV remote as advertised

Hello, I am planning this game room that I will be furnishing in a few weeks. Comes black friday I have ordered both the C1 48" at 930€ and the QN90A at 850€. I can only reject one package so I can't have both to compare at the same time.  
The TV will have a high end gaming PC and a PS5 connected and will be used almost exclusively for gaming.

some things worry me about the oled:

\- Burn-in dilemma, this tv is used almost exclusively for gaming, so HUDs on all the time

\- Daylight , what worries me is the directly facing BIG east facing window opposite to the TV. I use the TV for gaming 70% during the day 10pm - 18pm.

\- BFI only available if you turn on VRR (if I understood correctly from my research)

Positives of OLED:

\- hopefully superior PQ in normal semi-controlled light conditions (semi transparent white roller shades)

\- I could sometimes extend the PC screen on the oled without going to directly face it and get a superior image

\- probably going to end up in the bedroom someday, which is quite dimmer

Do you think it is worth it to switch to a QN90A for this specific scenario? With the QN90A I wouldn't have to worry about burn if I end up using it as a monitor extension (with less pq, given the angled view), it would offer better daylight performance, some neat features like ultrawide gaming and whatnot.

The QN90 only has 1 HDMI 2.1 port so if you're gaming either the PC or PS5 would not be able to do 4k 120. LG C1 is the best gaming tv on the market

I would definitely go with the C1. Everything at 60FPS and higher will look way better on an OLED. I have three OLEDs and a Samsung Q90T. The Q90T is a smearing mess in motion.

High brightness is very nice but a bit overrated. You want consistency in image quality and motion for desktop usage and gaming. This is where the C1 shines.

You have to turn off VRR if you want to use BFI. I would not recommend using BFI, because it makes the image way too dim at high setting. At low setting the difference in motion is not worth it IMO.

Last but not least, the chance of getting a clean panel at this screen size is probably way higher if you go with the 48C1, because Samsung is quiet known for DSE and other uniformity issues, not to mention the worse customer support and lack of fixing things quickly with firmware updates compared to LG.
