Even with its budget pricing, it logged an impressive 166 MB/s maximum read speed in our tests, outperforming almost everything else in this price range. The drive allows for a 5GB movie file to transfer to your computer in only 30 seconds. Surprisingly, despite the drive's low price, the plastic material's quality seems reliable and strong. 
The write speeds are the obvious disadvantage to this drive, where the top performance only got up to 14MB/s during our tests. When pushing the drive even harder, speeds continued to decline. For instance, the drive took over 12 minutes when writing a 5GB folder full of modest files. Fine hardware, miserable software

I have only used this a couple days now but it seems to be everything it is advertised as.  

  I have 3 different brands of F/Drives among the 6 or so I own.  None of the others have password software but this ScanDisk  drive.

Cost effective solution for mobile storage

I've used SanDisk products before and have never had an issue with any SSDs or Flash drives from them.  One of the two I bought as a 2-pack I used to install MemTest86 so I could test my RAM. Thought I was having RAM problems. This diagnostic tool allows one to test their RAM after setting the BIOS to startup from the Flash drive with MemTest86 on it

 They are small, the USB port slides into the housing to protect it from damage, and it can be attached to a key chain or lanyard for easy transport or identification (lanyard color).  These are so inexpensive these days that it's handy to have one or two around for moving or storing data, and because of their low cost, a person can have redundant copies of important data files so that if one fails in the future there will be another copy. I've never had a SanDisk flash drive fail personally so far but I have had other brands do so when I needed them to work.  Anyway, these are excellent quality flash drives that don't cost much

 When done, I just write another image on the drive, then update the note paper. They have the performance I need, and the price is right for me. Highly recommended if your needs are Linux-related, or you just need reliable, portable storage. Definitely worth the 5 Stars

 How do I know what is on them? A 3x5-inch spiral bound memo book does the trick for me. They do get a surprising amount of use as live boot sticks, as I like to see how various distros behave on my aging laptop’s hardware. When done, I just write another image on the drive, then update the note paper. They have the performance I need, and the price is right for me

 Highly recommended if your needs are Linux-related, or you just need reliable, portable storage. Definitely worth the 5 Stars. Thanks to SanDisk and Amazon for the great deals!
