Permethrin works. Bottle sprayer is garbage

 You also need to choose appropriate clothing (loose, covering as much skin area as possible), and use a Deet-containing repellant on all exposed skin.

 Do NOT overlook the warning that you MUST pretreat the clothes and let them COMPLETELY dry before use. Completely dry means different things in different climates. I strongly suggest leaving the clothes to dry in your garage or patio, maybe for at least 4 full days in the summer in Arizona, or for at least two weeks in the winter in Chicago. Do NOT spray on human skin, nor to clothing while wearing the clothing

  The spray is wide and fine.  If you lay the clothes flat, use plastic sheeting underneath to keep the clothes clean, and to avoid spraying permethrin all over the ground.

Check the weather report before you leave your clothes out to dry.  It rained a bit when I left the clothes out overnight.

Convenient bottles, but they leaked in transit.  Emptying the bottles with the sprayer is a pain.

 So far, I've had good luck. BTY be sure to wear a treated hat and also "blouse" your pants too.

 When I spray my clothes and hat, and they seem to stay away with this product. Either I was very lucky last year or this product did help keep them away - can't be entirely sure but choose to believe the product is effective - so I bought more this year.

I live in upstate NY and the ticks in my area have become out of control. With all of the bad that comes with them I do not even think of going into the woods without treating my clothing with Sawyers. Im not big on all of the hazard warnings that come with the product but if weighing the bad of this product against the lifetime of being sick with one of the diseases carried by the ticks Ill take this product.
