I’ve been reading around and a lot of reviews say that ‘Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tour’ tyres are great for touring, but the lowest size I can find is 35C / 1.40 inch. I am concerned  that this is a bit too wide for touring and cause too much resistance, does anybody have any experience touring on such thick tyres?

Curious for some tire recommendations for crushed limestone (like the Katy Trail in Missouri)? The hard pack surface doesn’t need the knobbiest tire, but needs something to hold on to. 

I had some 700x35C Vittoria tires on my Cyclocross bike that have worn out and are now discontinued, and am feeling a bit lost as I search my way through. Thanks in advance.

Tire recommendations for crushed limestone (Rails to Trails)?

 Another tire of the same size was much more difficult and I had to use zip ties to get it done. As for a 700x25, it was nearly impossible. I hade to use several zip ties and another person to get it done. Conclusion: The mounting experience can be quite different from tire to tire even with the same size but especially between different sizes

The 700x28s I mounted were all on the same brand and style of rim. I have to conclude that there is a good deal of difference among the tires and this makes for a difficult mounting experience

These will be hard to fit, but great once they're on.
