For riding in any weather the best option I would go for is the Segway Ninebot Max, but that will be over your budget. On the plus side it should definitely last, as its a very well built scooter. I got over 1000km on my G30LP and had zero issues with it, only thing I do is check tyre pressure and inflate when needed.

Looking to get a scooter for work

Good once setup

Range isn't a big issue for me as work is within a couple miles and I can charge it at work. I do want to keep it fairly portable as my apartment is upstairs and I would have to bring it downstairs at work. The only scooter I've ridden previously is a Segway Ninebot Max and I did enjoy it, though I can see that the power on it wouldn't be enough for me forever and I would like to have some suspension.

 If you weight 210 and aiming to use it daily for 20-30 miles, I would seriously consider buying a bike rather. Specification says it has capacity of 220lb, from my own experience it can but in a few days you going to lose your bearing. That's something really to consider before purchasing it.

It's an amazing scooter without any doubt. Keeping that in mind, one have to consider their weight on this device. I live in a city with a good amount of inclines and relatively poor road quality, so an electric scooter with some good dampening and adequate engine(s) for climbing inclines is quite important for safety and ride quality.  
I should also note that because of Norwegian law, electric scooters are limited to 20 KM/h, and must be lesser than 85cmWide x 120cmLong, this unfortunately rules out the Vsett 9+.  


I've managed to narrow my search down to a selection of bikes and would love to hear some advice from some of the more experienced riders.  
The pricing in Norway is fairly high, therefore I will be including the prices I can actually obtain them for in USD.

Help deciding between Vsett 8, Mantis 8, Nanrobot D4+, Zero 9

  I get 12 miles total range at 100% full speed the whole time and with my 240 pounds.  Honestly, that is not too bad.  Just be realistic about what to expect.

  But, that is because it is built solidly and it is full of batteries.  So, the heavy weight is to be expected.

Pretty Good

I would say the Segway NineBot Max fits those requirements although I haven't personally had to deal with their customer service myself. I've had mine for about 6 months and still love it, especially after adding a few modifications.

scooter recommendation!

So because of that tradeoff- I do not recommend the purchase if you are 200+ lbs. Unless you don't need I beyond 10 miles, then I would recommend this scooter. Or if you live in flat places, it might be better.

Pros- good build unlike the es3 that costco offered a year ago, this scooter will likely stand the test of time. The es3 started rattling and was loose after going over bumps in the road within a month in San Francisco, which had bad streets, pot holes everywhere.
