 The Skx is so iconic that I think a lot of watch geeks when they see this key shape and this dial layout are automatically going to think diver, which I think is going to cause some people to just have a hard time accepting a dressy casual watch in this kind of configuration. But even if you have an issue with that, I think once you put this on your wrist, you'll quickly get over it. It really is that good. And there is something to be said about using a dial layout that is both effective and familiar for a lot of people

 There's a nice circular brushed finishing on top and a polished finish on both sides, as well as a polished beveled edge that runs between the two, which is also a pattern that's repeated for the clean bezel, where there you also have a polished beveled edge that sits in between two brush sections like an Oreo, and the top section of that bezel has a circular brushed finishing that matches the case. And even though it's a small thing, I have to say that going from a diving bezel to a clean fixed one really makes a dramatic difference in the feel of the watch, especially with these beveled edges on both the case and the bezel as they just reflect enough light to highlight the overall case shape and act as a frame that draws your eyes in. If you're used to micro brands, you'd probably be expecting a sapphire crystal, but remember, this is Seiko we're talking about, so unfortunately it's only hard licks. although I think it's only a matter of time before some modders start swapping in their own sapphire

 However, it's not all perfect and I think the biggest issue with these right now is value since they are rather new. Most places are selling them from the high twos to the low threes, which isn't really unreasonable for a Seiko, but a lot of other brands you're going to have sapphire and a bracelet for this price. However, as the prices drop, I think the whole package is going to become a whole lot more attractive. and I happen to run across this one for 220 on ebay so it is already starting

 It's really one of my favorite straps and I think with this watch it just has a great blend of casual and flash, so it's gonna stay on this for now. But I wouldn't be surprised if strap code releases a bracelet pretty soon and I'll probably get one of those now. When I ordered this dress kx, I really wasn't expecting much. I did it more out of curiosity, but overall I'm really happy with it and I'm really glad I took the plunge as it went from being curious for just a video to being a keeper rather quickly and I think this line has become one of my go-to watches to recommend for someone who's new to the hobby

Usual Seiko chapter ring misalignment

 I think it's a handsome watch, obviously kind of in its own right and I think it holds its own attacking hand, winnable, 100 meters of water resistance it has, you know, display case back. It's mechanical so you know it has a lot of cool attributes on its own even if you're not like huge into Seiko model variations. Go! of course there's the blue dial, black dial or the gray dial and you can get those on bracelet or on. NATO And really the only difference between those dials are they're always pretty much the same and the only difference is if it comes on the bracelet it will have kind of the polished bezel and then if it comes on the strap then it will have the brushed bezel

 So SRP e61 Really nice with the gray and then we got the black dial right. and then really, the main thing that's different here is just the bezel and then of course in particular these. You know the two choices. You have the matte black dial and you have a Sunburst style from me

 it honestly doesn't look that much bigger. But then here now you have this guy on NATO Really beautiful. Obviously this is an upgraded NATO strap, but you get the idea. it actually doesn't add too much underneath and obviously this is a quite beautifully contoured case, so it just gives you even more room and more range of motion which is really great

 this is their whole-grain NATO love this probably one of my favorite grain Eidos and gray needles are probably my favorite of all needle straps. So this thing is absolutely gorgeous. Very traditional and set up in that it does have the double pass there it, but it's modern in that it has the sliding keeper and I've actually made it a little bit shorter so there's not so much extra tongue hanging out. Vermont For me with a seven and a quarter inch wrist, one of my big issues is I really need it to be long enough to fold back in or short enough not to have all this access tail but I did want to show you guys the factory branded Seiko you know, strap here really nice

Great everyday watch

 This does have drilled lugs and let me show you here. they use a little bit different of a spring bar. it's actually, uh, they came with like a shoulderless spring bar there so that's a little different but kind of cool. now

 uh watch real quick. we're gonna take a look at I it it all sized up and put on here and it looks fantastic. Man that is the Sex Kx Look how good that looks. So getting the old spring bars out was pretty easy

 Let's take a closer look at like some of the transitions and all and see how they look and go from brush to the little polished chamfers on the bezel. same the polished case sides. The dial looks really nice. really clean

 It's a big boy but totally wearable on a seven and a quarter inch wrist, but we got something cool to look at here today. I've been wanting to check one of these out for quite a while and I don't know. it's just one of those things I hadn't got around to. but I finally have and had just come in last night and I've been dying to open it ever since

Seiko SRPE61 Dress KX Unboxing and Review

Looking at the Seiko SRPE61 as I like the style and its seems a good watch for its price category. My only reluctance is the 4R36 movement, as while i hear it is sturdy I wanted something with 28,800bph hacking and day date complication (potentially). Are there any comparable sub 40mm watches out there that I should be looking for. Im not a fan of divers, but very open to suggestions

[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread

 It can be fixed somewhat easily, apparently, if caught early, but based on this information I don’t want to pay for a new watch that comes w a design flaw. I was very disappointed to say the least, bc I love the way the watch looks.
