 I'm playing through a 2011 Vox AC30C2. I'm hoping this can give you a little bit more of an idea of what this pickup sounds like in different settings and situations. Let's take a listen to both of those. So overall I think this is a really great pickup

 Music Hey everybody, my name is AJ Hirsch and in today's video I want to take a second to talk about the Seymour Duncan JB humbucker. I've had this pickup installed on this guitar since 2015 and after all these years this is still one of my favorite sounding pickups. I have this pickup currently installed on a 2004 made in Mexico Fender Stratocaster that I've had since I was 10 in 2004 so it was important to me when I was picking out a set of pickups that I got something that really brought this guitar out and made it sound the best that it can. At first I was a little concerned about the difference in output from the JB to the single coils especially since the JB is a bit of more of a high output and the Fender I just messed with the height adjustment of the pickup and I think I've found a good setting and it's just been staying there for the last several years and in the beginning in the solo that I played I switched to the neck just so you can hear that it actually sounds pretty good and it doesn't really sound like there's a big drop in the volume

 Let's take a listen to both of those. So overall I think this is a really great pickup. It's not that expensive. It works well with single coils

Seymour Duncan JB | Demo and Review

So far im not totally sold on this pickup. I put one in my Schecter omen 6 and it improved the clarity and muddiness. But to me it sounds a little thin and not tight enough. Im using it on a peavey xxx 40 watt amp 

 and it sounds clear and crunchy. But the chug is not there and not as tight as a ceramic pickup. I might be returning this or trying it in a les paul. For tight downtuned metal I might go for something else in this guitar like a SD distortion or Dimarzio d- activator , supe distortion etc

 Im just more of a fan of ceramic pickups I suppose. They deliver the metal tones a lot better. Too much brightness with this pickup and not enough tightness. Bright but not tight

Hey, how's it going everybody? So today I decided to give my Jackson Js32 Dinky a little upgrade. Uh, what I did was basically take the the Factory uh bridge pickup that this guitar came with which is, uh, your regular standard Jackson pickups and replaced it with a Seymour Duncan Jb Sh4 uh humbucker. I've heard a lot of good things about this pickup and I know Seymour Duncan has a really good reputation for pickups with high gain, a lot of brightness, and basically a lot of rock and metal guitar players use them so I know they're pretty. Uh, a good all-around uh, rock music pickup

 Let's give her test run and we'll see how it sounds. [Music] [Music] hey [Music] Bye! So now we heard what it's like on distortion. Let's hear what it's like on Clean Channel.  I've heard a lot of good things about this pickup and I know Seymour Duncan has a really good reputation for pickups with high gain, a lot of brightness, and basically a lot of rock and metal guitar players use them so I know they're pretty. Uh, a good all-around uh, rock music pickup. I'm gonna do a test, do the distortion test, and then do the clean channel test and I'm gonna be playing through my spark amp. I'm gonna be using a metal tone that I like using through the app

Seymour Duncan JB SH-4 Pickup Review

I liked the tone of the pickup but pinch harmonics were lacking and the pickup is just way too loose sounding. it might be better for someone using a Vintage Marshall which would probably sound really good for heavier rock but when you a have a Friedman BE100, Bogner ecstasy 101B with winged C's and a AxeFx II XL+ with 3 bogner 4x12 cabs set up as a wet dry wet set up and the pickup is lacking focus it's tough to give it a great review.

 you can throw an Mxr 10 Ben EQ to fix that, but the JB's you know, legit. They're absolutely amazing. They for the price you know you know they're They're tried-and-true You know what I mean. So if you again if you're looking for one of those even keel pickups, you could definitely get a JB You can get an AA school now as goals: I Think you're just gonna be a little more expensive

The only reason why this pickup doesn't get 5 stars from me is simply because there are better pickups on the market--much pricier pickups, to be fair (Lundgren, BKP, etc), but I'd have to reserve a 5-star rating for them.

I bought this pickup as a replacement for a stock pickup in a very low-end guitar to give it some character. It is a great improvement, and the pickup really shines when used when the amp has some crunch on it. Great high-output pickup

This pickup sounds kind of dull in my Austin Strat-knockoff, but it also sounds pretty heavy. I split the coils with a mini-switch and that really seemed to be a waste of time, so I don't recommend doing that unless you plan on doing some phase reversal with another pickup.

 in my experience, Duncan does not make a "muddy" pickup across the line.  This is a clear winner for me. This particular model was used in a Steinberger Spirit at the bridge position to replace the Steinie OEM p'ups. The guitar sounds incredible now

I have probably bought more than 20 replacement pickups in my life. I have replaced OEM BC Rich pickups with Duncans with great results, used DiMarzios in a couple of project guitars, and several other Steinberger (Spirit) projects where I have tried both brands.  This may be my overall favorite pickup for tone, attack, and gain. It has a great thick sound with shimmering highs and clear lows

 This particular model was used in a Steinberger Spirit at the bridge position to replace the Steinie OEM p'ups. The guitar sounds incredible now. This was mainly bought as a travel guitar, but I find that the Duncan SH4 moves it up to be one of the best sounding guitars that I own. I put 2/3 of a set of Texas special Fender p'ups in the mid and neck positions on this guitar, and it is really a tone machine now
