Another issue with this tent is ventilation when you have the rain fly installed. There is no venting system in this tent like you would find in more expensive tents. On warm nights, humidity accumulates inside the tent, which can soak you and your sleeping bag and your gear

 For about the same price, you can find good quality tents that weigh under 5 pounds. Tents that weigh under 4 pounds are a little more. If you're carrying a tent for long distances, especially for many days in a row, a couple of pounds saved makes a huge difference. basic quality 2-person backpacking tent is a little heavy and stuffy

 The MIDDLE clip attaches to the highest/top pole. I had clipped it lower and it seems much more stable when clipped to the highest pole. ---- Also, I put the cross bar through the gray loops that are supposed to be for when you tie up the "sun roof" -- oops! So a first, I thought maybe you just roll and tuck the "sun-roof" up. But later I noticed the little clip thingy at the top beneath the "sun roof," and realized they hook into these grey loops that I put the cross pole through

 ---- Also, I put the cross bar through the gray loops that are supposed to be for when you tie up the "sun roof" -- oops! So a first, I thought maybe you just roll and tuck the "sun-roof" up. But later I noticed the little clip thingy at the top beneath the "sun roof," and realized they hook into these grey loops that I put the cross pole through.  Price is good and affordable. My son can carry it LOL. I'd recommend this, for sure. Seems good high quality

 Compared to my Big Anges Fly Creek UL 1, which weighs 2.2 pounds, this is significantly heavier. However, it is also significantly cheaper. The product does offer the option to just carry the fly, so some backpackers might like that to reduce weight

Easy, Fast set up, Note: weighs 5.6 pounds, but Very pleased with Product

 With this tent, the unique external pole design is easier and faster to set up than traditional tents, and the tent is very stable and sturdy with a roomy design. If, however, you like the versatility of using a tent without the rain fly, this one isn't for you. Unique design provides fast convenient setup, but it's not for everyone.

 For what it is, I really like the tent. It weighs a hair over 5 lbs, which is very similar to my other 2 man tent, only this one is a bit roomier inside and will be slightly less cramped (but still cozy) for two adults. It's light enough that I can backpack with it solo. The quality level is good, with nice sturdy nylon construction, strong aluminum poles, and very nice aluminum stakes (much better than the steel ones typically included with tents)

 I gained a lot of knowledge from friends that hike frequently and for weeks at a time. They taught me about weight load, proper hiking shoes, tools, tents, etc. I've done a few short overnighters, but I'll be hitting a thirty mile trail (my personal longest to date) next month. I'm still a newbie at all of this, but the hiking bug has bitten me

 I would normally carry a daypack if anything at all and nothing more than water, snacks, and a poncho. After receiving some specialized training about seven months ago, I got hooked on overnight hiking. I gained a lot of knowledge from friends that hike frequently and for weeks at a time. They taught me about weight load, proper hiking shoes, tools, tents, etc

 I've done a few short overnighters, but I'll be hitting a thirty mile trail (my personal longest to date) next month. I'm still a newbie at all of this, but the hiking bug has bitten me..

 I'm positive that this weight is a bigger factor on longer hikes, and hopefully I'll be able to update this review as my hikes get longer.  Again, I'm just a hiking noob when it comes to overnighter and multi-day hikes, so keep that in mind when reading my review. As I become more experienced on the trail, I'll do my best to update this review.

A Newbie's Point Of View

My husband set this up in our backyard to test it out. That took him a whopping 5 minutes. He didn't need to look at instructions. Basic, self-explanatory setup

 Assembly takes about 5 minutes if you know what you are doing. Have had it up in the middle of a severe storm, no issues at all.
