This really is a great experiment and fun learning device. However it does have design flaws. The wires use these pins at each end that you have to plug into the components. However, they do not plug in easily

 #2. Use micro banana plugs instead of the pins on the ends of wires.  Yes, this will raise the cost a little bit, but not by more then $5.  This is a good learning tool and I do recommend it, however your child will have to have excellent motor skills and sufficient strength to plug everything in and then take it apart

 So, I loved this SOOOO much, that I'm returning the product for another. But, I'm going to test each component myself (before play time with the kid) and before returning the faulty box with the faulty microprocessor, I'm going to make sure every part works, shipping all faulty ones back. If two boxes can't give me 100 percent, I will give up on this and move on.

Great concept, and really fun!

I got this for my son's 8th birthday as he loves science and wanted a circuits set. The book is informative, although I wish it went into more detail about what the components are. The one major drawback is that the boards and the wires are very, very difficult to assemble. The plastic pieces are tough to push together

 It requires 3 AAA batteries and only lasted maybe an hour or 2. Overall great experience, so worth it.

Good buy

The ONLY reason I dropped a star is because the ends of the wires are so flimsy. The piece you're supposed to plug into the different ports extends about 1/2" from the end of the plastic sheath, and the metal bends very easily; it feels only slightly stronger than a pipe cleaner. The ports are very small and some of them are so tight that you have to really force the wires in. We bent a few of the ends of the different wires after only one day

. doesn't seem like there was much quality control, if any. In concept, is a decent kit, but in actual use not that good. A matter of time before my grandson becomes frustrated with trying to insert the wire tips without bending/or breaking them and just gives up and abandons the gift 

I bought this for my 12 year old grandson as a basic introduction to electronics. The manual is fair, though it could have been written better for the target age group of 8+. What I didn't like was the fact that the wires are very difficult to insert into the connector holes. Several of them bent at the tip due to the amount of force needed top insert the wires

 The phillips head screw is extremely small and even with a very small screw driver, was very difficult to unscrew, and then screw back in without stripping the head. You need to apply a great deal of force to unscrew and screw. So overall, the quality is so so .

We tried pushing them in tighter and wiggling them in every direction but there was no consistent way to make a connection, particularly to the positive terminal of the battery module. We're unfortunately returning it as it would be beyond aggravating to try and build a larger circuit with these conditions. Maybe we received a defective model but I'm not interested in taking another chance and would rather try another company with hopefully a higher quality product

Very Disappointed

This product brought many hours of building for my child. She loved that she could make games, which was one of the best parts of the set. The only downside was the connector wires are delicate/hard to push in the components and she isn't super careful, so there was some bending and over repeated usage I imagine they might break. Not a huge issue and for the price I can't complain too much, but if your kid is as rough as mine, supervision might be a good idea until they are mature enough to not break things
