 So a really great value add, I actually went away from this helmet for a while and it didn't have MIPS because I wanted to be in the most safe helmet I could. And now I'm back in it because they added the MIPS. I put my kid back in it. This is my son who's a 12 year old

 I have a kind of a small head. This is a medium helmet, which is like 55 to 59 centimeters. And it fits me just fine, even with a little skinny beanie underneath. OK? So that's kind of where I'm at

 Now it just so happens that this is my favorite helmet from Smith. I've run it tons of years and they just keep making it better and better. It's the lightest certified MIPS helmet on the market. And so what that means is, in the past it was just kind of a light, very simple, really I might call it a park helmet, but now they've added the safety of MIPS

 And if you're not familiar with MIPS, you can actually see it in there. You see that little plastic layer? It's technology that if you impact the ground, it creates a little bit of give between your head and the helmet, which at the moment of impact is found to be very helpful in reducing the concussive force.  The lining seems minimal, but it's still fairly cushy compared to my old bolle. Ear muffs are super comfortable and warm as well. The only thing I'd like to change about the helmet is to add an adjustable dial to make it easier to adjust the helmet, but because of the fit and lightweight design, I am definitely keeping this helmet.

Do Smith helmets fit roughly the same between models?

2 days on the slopes and I'm still very pleased overall but I do wish the venting was more effective. I took away a star because of that. It's about 30f at the base of snowbird and 15F at the peak and I'm getting pretty sweaty. It's a very comfortable helmet though, so I'd buy it again in spite of the venting

 Based on another reviewers comment, I went with the large and it's a good fit. The helmet is super light and seems comfortable in me brief experience. Installation of audio was simple with the zippered back padding section.

I haven't yet used this to ski, so I'll update my review based on usage next week. Like another reviewer, I have a 59cm head which, according to Smith sizing, could be medium or large. Based on another reviewers comment, I went with the large and it's a good fit. The helmet is super light and seems comfortable in me brief experience

Any recommendations? Also considering the Giro Ledge.
