This model also has a tricky bottle attachment feature, requiring you to press the button on the top to tilt the top so you can thread the bottle on; however, it was challenging to manage the lever at the top while using one hand to properly thread the bottle. This SodaStream model didn't feel user-friendly as some and only comes with one bottle. This is an excellent option for someone looking for an inexpensive countertop soda maker.

Loved it, until a design flaw struck, twice

 There is no real indication of the level of carbonation, and as the CO2 tank gets used up it throws the timing off.  Definitely the bargain basement bare-bones model. However, it does indeed carbonate water. Was expecting more for the price though

  The design of the bottles couled with the lack of a quick-connect makes it fiddly to attach and detach the bottles. If your hands are slippery or wet it feels like you will drop the bottles while half-attached. The carbonation tip and having to hold the lever to attach and detach the bottles makes this a lot worse than our old Soda Stream Source.  The carbonation button has to be pressed down hard and seems to be pressure sensitive

Mediocre

I have had a couple different Soda Streams and this model is by far the worse, no reason to buy it when the better model is only a couple bucks more.  The main issue with this product is that you are required to screw the bottle in to add Co2 to the water, almost all other models you just push it up into the unit and it clicks in.  I feel as though this model is obsolete and with inevitably be discontinued.  Its not that it doesn't work or anything of the like, its just crazy to get this model opposed to any of the others

Small parts issues

I have had the original Sodastream for over a decade it seems and it broke so was excited to get a new one that may be even better. This is the dumbest design I have seen - way to mess up a product Sodastream. The hight with the button is too high for normal kitchen counter to fit under so have to tilt and put under. The screwing in the bottles with one hand is difficult to say the least
