Sonos One

The speaker is their ‘One’ branded line. A single speaker, which in my mind would play mono and sound about as good as any mid-priced Bluetooth speaker could. Mind you, this speaker is about two feet off the floor, on a built-in bookshelf about 2” from two walls in the corner of the room. I downloaded the Sonos App, quickly connected to the speaker, selected Spotify and played some “Favorite Things” by John Coltrane.

First of all, they are the cleanest looking speakers around, the app control is amazing, the sound is amazing, the fact that you can build your setup piece by piece is amazing and don’t even get me started on the SUB!!. Growing up I had an brother who had tons of the older sonos speakers and as a kid I dreamt of owning sonos someday- but I never thought I would beat my older bro’s setup!. I’m a college student and broke as ever but I am finally sitting with the setup I dreamed of for years. I finally saved up enough to get two one’s, a play 5, a roam AND THE SUB!!!

But I can’t seem to stop, as now I really want the Sub to complete the room set up and possibly the pro-ject turntable along with the amp or port. If you are on the edge of considering buying a Sonos product, The One is definitely the best value speaker out there considering how it can change how we listen to music, as it even beats some high end in-car systems. But be warned, once you pop that Sonos cherry, can be hard to stop.
