 On a positive note, if you have an established Google account, setting up the TV is a breeze and actually borderline fun (weird, I know). You need the Google Home app on your phone or tablet. The app helps set up the TV. But really what the app wants to do is absorb this TV into an army of Google-powered devices in your house into one app

 I find it blatantly gimmicky. I also find it sacrifices OS user interface utility for a "Hey, isn't this cool for 15 seconds and I'll never open it again?" app. The home screen is cluttered and confusing. You can quickly find everything except what you're looking for

The remote control had an inelegant feel to it. Simple narrow rectangle.  Loading apps was more difficult than on other smart TVs.  This unit would not support Netflix

 After hours on the phone it was determined that is was an issue with the individual set, not with Sony. Amazon offered to exchange or refund. I chose to return as I did not like the remote. Amazon paid for pick up and shipping since it was defective

 All the inputs and outputs are on the left side of the TV as you look at the television from the front, or if you’re looking at it from the back they are on the right side.  The remote is very nice and well thought out. There is no odd shape to it, it isn’t meant to stand up, it lays flat, and the weight is very balanced. All the buttons are laid out logically according to what you would use most

  The sound is not much to write home about but then again most built in television speakers never are. If this is going in a small room I’m sure you’ll be fine with the built in speakers. If you’re going to put it in a medium sized room or in a room that may have ancillary sound coming in you may want to invest in a sound bar. If you’re going to use this in your main media room or in any large setting you should hook it up to a sound system for a true movie experience

 Each button push is soft but affirmative when pushed. If you’re used to a touch screen remote it is a bit awkward to go “backwards” and use a circular directional input system that you have to physically push. This makes entering codes, digits, e-mail addresses, etc more time consuming. I’m a little weary of trusting Google with the voice remote (I’m an Apple guy and I like my privacy) it is worth noting that it does come with Google Voice so you can control the television with your voice, supposedly

Very nice entry level television

 However it has low input lag and a great response time which equals smooth motion. I haven't had any issues gaming, playing games like Days Gone, Final Fanrasy 7 remake, Last of Us II haven't experienced any issues or lag.  The sound quality isn't the greatest, it's an improvement over my 2015 Sony TV and it's nice that it can calibrate based on the living room size or where ever you put this to maximize the sound. However I would still recommend using a sound bar

 This ends up being annoying enough that you'll want to disable the interface noises it makes. The sound quality overall is quite good, but I wouldn't call it anything spectacular or special. It's not bad or even mediocre, it is pretty good, but it's not going to blow you away or anything.  I was worried that this TV wouldn't let you start on an HDMI input: that it would force you to start from the "smart tv" interface, but luckily this isn't the case

Excellent TV, but dark areas are washed out.

 Called Sony customer support and they were useless when I told them some of the remote buttons stopped working and would only start working again after a full system reset to factory settings. After 3 days of being ridiculously frustrated when all I wanted to do was watch tv, I decided to stick with the x800h. The Bluetooth connectivity wasn’t worth the super unstable and glitchy Smart Google TV. I chose stability over Bluetooth

 Netflix and any other streaming service would crash and stop working every 5 minutes like clockwork. In the middle of watching, it would randomly kick me out of the app and back to the main tv menu. Some of the remote control features stopped working after installing updates which meant pressing certain buttons did nothing. I basically had to do an entire system reset back to factory settings every time this happened in order to get the remote fully functional which was a HUGE pain

Glitchy OS is a pain

 DO NOT PAIR SONY REMOTE TO YOUR SATELLITE/CABLE/FIRE STICK because, if you do, you lose control of the volume & on/off power of those remotes. I am going to factory reset & try again. This tv is nothing extraordinary to have to deal with what google takes away from you to use it. I'M A VERY DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER
