Sony BRAVIA XR A95K

Curently there are only the A90j and the Panasonic flagship. They are both excelent, but very expensive. Also there is the new Sony A95k QD Oled with a heatsink that has only a very weak ABL and it is better than normal WRGB Oleds, but it is a new tech and very expensive. Samsung should also bring their own QD Oleds soon, but I would not expect them to beat the Sony or be much cheaper.

However, I am fairly certain that an OLED or QD-OLED will look significantly better while gaming. The x95k should be no slouch if you end up going for it. Other options: The a90j is probably not as good as the a95k, but if you're using it as a monitor, the subpixel layout is a little more tolerable. Also, it does not raise black levels in lit rooms.

On top of that I play a lot of racing games so I feel more at peace with knowing that I will have a heatsink too. Not only that but judging from Vincent’s first impressions, it seems that Sony has been conservative on their brightness too. So even though Sony can push the panel harder, they don’t for the sake of the lifespan of the panel. Those are all the reasons of why I have gathered to ultimately decide on the A95K.

Putting aside upgrade cost, the a95k is significantly better than the x950g in every area except SDR peak brightness. Given that you're looking for a Blu-ray and PS5 upgrade, I think you'll see more of a big PQ upgrade in blu-ray and HDR content. The PS5 will likely look similar/slightly better, but your experience will be improved because you'll have access to a 120hz refresh rate.

Just make sure to choose color profile native & I drop the color down from 25 to 20. It looks close to identical to LG, accept with Xtra color volume s95b u see more colors in skin & just in general all content. The OS tisen is sluggish & the remote sucks...easily the biggest drawbacks. But the image is insane & Sony a95k is not gonna be worth 1000$ more for Slight improvements.
