After seeing the Sony ss-cs5 go on sale for $73, I was ready to pull the trigger so I can have budget speakers for my bedroom. In the end I decided to treat myself and see what deals I could find on FB marketplace, and these seemed a bit nicer and the price was decent. The guy threw in stands but they're very light and I'll probably replace them.

Considering these are going in a small bedroom, does anyone have amps they could recommend for around $100? I'll just be streaming from a smart TV and could connect with optical, ARC or RCA.

Q Acoustics 3020 in great condition for $150. Now to find a budget amp!

 Turned each speaker horizontally and stacked four high per side, tweeter above tweeter, woofer above woofer in a sort of array, made the connections and switched on the Levinson No. 585 integrated amp - as most who buy these speakers probably own - and have been listening to them for two days now.  I have not listened to a single pair, just this stack of eight speakers. They can't match the single-pair Bryston Mini-T, but at $4k/pair for the Bryston, I'd have been disappointed if they did

 Amazon and Sony made it cheap to play with so I pulled the trigger.  When they arrived, I stacked them atop my dual SVS subwoofers after moving my Bryston speakers to another room for a few days while I play with these Sony speakers.  However, I don't often crank audio at very high levels, and at more moderate volume these Sony sound their best.  I am having fun with the different window they offer for the music. My wife is no audiophile but her comment was, "These don't sound as good as the Mini-T - the don't have any bass!" Well, they don't extend very deep, nor is the upper bass as clean as that to which we are accustomed. Still, four are fairly impressive to those less spoiled by superior speakers

I just got a new LG C1 55”. The sound on the tv is pretty good, but I would like to add  more sound to compliment it. 

I live in an apartment but nobody lives under me or shared walls to the living room.

I almost fell into the trap of sound bars and was wondering if there was something small I could setup for around $1200-1500?

New to all of this!

 I found the sound bar offerings to be subpar and their quality and inability to adjust to my preferences unacceptable. This means what I sought the most is better then TV speakers, better than sound bar for movies and games. I also listen to music, but I am not trying to maximize that specific listening experience. For someone like me, this product works well, very well

 It is working. I am happy with the set-up and the size of the subwoofer. This is my second receiver set-up, I currently use Denon and my other set-up uses a Polk PSW10. Aside from one being active and the other passive, I am under the impression the quality between the two are similar and I am similarly content with the results/sound

  In terms of where I am at with my sound requirements. I don't like TV speakers at all. Easy to Install - Not an Audio Expert

Q acoustics 3020i are decent in this price range. I use these without a sub and are quite substantial from a bass perspective for most genres.

I cannot speak for the other speakers but I used a pair of Sony SS-CS5s until I upgraded to the KEF q350. Though, I recommend them with a sub, the low end can be lacking depending on what you drive them with.

Best bookshelf speakers under $200?

 I don't use them at high volume, I use them in a small room, and I don't want lots of booming bass, so I really like them for their clarity and balance. They generally get good reviews for a lower end speaker, and seem a good value, although I don't know what they are going for now, compared to other options. I would buy them again.

I think recommending a speaker is very difficult becauser everybody wants something different, we all listen to different kinds of music, have different expectations, and everybody's system is going to sound different through them. That said, I wanted speakers with clear highs but not brittle or harsh, and balanced frequency response in general. I don't use them at high volume, I use them in a small room, and I don't want lots of booming bass, so I really like them for their clarity and balance. They generally get good reviews for a lower end speaker, and seem a good value, although I don't know what they are going for now, compared to other options

Sound is Subjective but I Like Them

 I feel like the sony have a very very good sound but are lacking bass  (they are really close to the wall) and a bit of clarity. So i want to upgrade my speakers since i've read these is the most important upgrade if I want to have a better listening experience.

My current budget for this is on the $200-$300 range. Right now the setup i'm using is the Sony STR-DH190 amplifier, a Topping E30 to stream apple music via USB and a pair of Sony SS-CS5. I feel like the sony have a very very good sound but are lacking bass  (they are really close to the wall) and a bit of clarity. So i want to upgrade my speakers since i've read these is the most important upgrade if I want to have a better listening experience

This subwoofer (SACS9) has good frequency range and quality sound but the wattage is weak. This isn't an issue for me as I'm primarily using it on my stereo for jazz and classical music but if you're looking for a powerful thumper I wouldn't consider this one. I have to turn its volume all the way up and boost the bass a little on my receiver to get the level I want. I enjoy the hz cuttoff and tuning options

Pretty Good for the Price

Hi everyone, just before I purchase everything I wanted to run my final setup by you. After much much research and reading I'm thinking of purchasing the following to start off my vinyl journey:

-  Turntable: Fluance RT82 - $299

-  Pre Amp:  Art DJ Pre II - $65

- Receiver:  Sony STRDH190 2-ch Stereo Receiver - $150

- Passive Speakers - Pioneer SP BS22 LR - $99

Total: $650 ish

Ideally, I don't spend any more than this. Do you think this is the best new setup I could get for my budget? Do you recommend that I replace any of my parts with any others? Should I budget more on certain parts and cut out cost on others? I'm really open to any feedback before I officially buy everything. Definitely want a setup that I can upgrade pretty easily in the future.

Ideally, I could find some used items but I really tried looking and my local craigslist didn't have much (Baltimore). I'd also rather have a new setup.  I'll be listening to all genres, with a slight emphasis on hip hop.
