Received two defective products, forced to keep the second one.

I bought one pair of these headphones and they were defective out of the box. I returned them and the replacement was even WORSE than the first one. If two out of two of the same product are broken out-of-the-box, you have failed as a company. Sony doesn't even care either! My replacement order was ...

Best wireless headphones for the home office

This feature-packed pair significantly reduces the noise of voices around you and can sound fantastic. But these headphones are pricey and require a good deal of setup.

How active noise cancellation for automotive works

Using Sony WH-1000XM3 myself. RTings has tested most ANC headphones on the market and published their measurement (not gut feeling) results:

Starting from the top, going left to right

1) Sony Pulse 3D headset. Got these free from a friend. Bad seals, ok quality for gaming, not very comfortable

2) AirPods Max. Controversial, and absolutely amazing. Best Bluetooth headphone out. It’s in the Waterfield case

3) Samson 850. Has a Brainwav...

Sony WH-1000XM4 review: A nearly flawless noise-canceling headphone

That's Sony's WH-1000XM4 in a nutshell. If you already own the WH-1000XM3, it's probably not worth upgrading -- it's just not that big a leap forward.

Ask HN: Why get expensive ANC headphones when a cheap inear one can do it?

I kind of agree, not because cheaper earphones are good but because how disappointing the noise cancelling on the expensive models is. According to most reviewers the best pair right now is the Sony WH-1000XM4 and I ended up returning them after a couple of days because of the inadequate ANC. I imag...

Sony didn’t change much, but it made the improvements we’ve been waiting for

Regardless, the 1000XM4s live up to the strong reputation that Sony has built and offer more powerful noise-canceling capabilities than ever before. If the company makes good on its multipoint fix, you’re probably looking at the new top pick for noise-canceling headphones.

The WH-1000XM4 gets notoriously hot, I've actually "downgraded" to the XM3 because of that (which I found much better... still gets hot, but quite a bit less).

But yeah, I also have a pair of HD650 and I can wear those for hours.

Sony WH-1000XM4 Review

There was still some Bluetooth distortion around the edges of words, but the mic signal was strong and even included a little extra bass response..In a head-to-head battle, the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 take home the prize in noise cancellation, while the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones win for audio performance
