 The a80j doesn't get that remote. All the buttons are the same, and i'm sure, if you really wanted one sony, would be happy to sell you one of the metal, backlit remotes. In fact, i found a site selling it and people with other sony. Tvs are already buying it so check out the links below

 Both sony oleds have speakers that vibrate the screen and send robust sound out into the audience with small subs in the back now. The a90j has a total of 60 watts of power, and the a80j has half that with 30 watts, both sound good but the a90j. Definitely has the best sound in a tv in 2021 and maybe ever if you have a soundbar or receiver, this probably doesn't matter, but i could enjoy either of these tvs with their internal speakers. So if i stop here - and maybe i should for the sake of the 80j, it seems like only a fool - would pay a thousand dollars or more for the sony a90j

Not sure which to go with, the A80 is more expensive, so more of a question towards is there enough of a picture/performance upgrade to compensate for the smaller frame and higher price point? Viewing distance will be ~ 8-11' (currently looking to move, so not 100% sure, but 11' would be the max).

The 6 Best 70-75-77 Inch TVs - Spring 2022

Getting the A80J 77in. I know Costco has extra warranty  free, but with Amazon i can use Amazon pay and pay for it over 5 months.

Never ordered anything this big being delivered and i need just basic unboxing and setup on a table.  Anyone have any experience with either resellers delivering a TV this size ?

Amazon or Costco delivery?

Changing channels was odd at first. The default to Home when you turn the set on was annoying. Home is Google TV. You have to change that in the menu

Coming from other televisions the menu is confusing, as is the remote. Previous channel = Jump. Home = Google TV app, not the TV guide. Audio button = English or Spanish, not Audio menus for adjusting sound quality or soundbar

What is really annoying is how much time the "smart" features add to the process of watching TV.

Can I just watch TV?

Hey all.  Costco delivered my tv on Friday and I set it up Saturday.  Working fine until last night when it suddenly shut off and  now won't turn on and I get the 4 blinking red lights.  From what I've read it's a serious issue.  Tried to do the factory reset and such but that didn't work.  I've yet to contact Costco but will do so later today.  I'm assuming the best thing to do is exchange the TV rather than get it repaired since it's will within the return period.  I'm just pissed that A) my wife re-injured her arm when we mounted the tv on the wall and B)  I've got to find a way to return the TV to Costco as it won't fit in my Nissan Rogue.  

I see the 4 blinking red light issue is not that uncommon so I'm not sure if I should stick with the same TV or maybe I just get a lemon. Got about 5 wonderful watching hours on this tv and I would hate for this to happen again after getting a new one!

My plasma is now in the bedroom,and if I had it to do over I dont think I would purchase again.Not worth the expense if you already have an above average tv already.And why cant anyone make a lighted remote,some of us dont use silly alexa.I can push a button just as easily and i dont need to be waking the wife speaking into a remote in the middle of the nite

I recently got a 77A80J and it's perfect! It's a much better value than the A90J, and you can buy the backlit remote on eBay. A80K is almost exactly the same.

<p>Anyway to my question, I got a credit to replace my 65” A8F for more than 3 dead pixels and will be going with the 77” A80J currently at $2,800. Should I wait for the A80K to launch a few weeks from now? I’m not in a rush to purchase now but Black Friday might be too far to wait. I sit about 12’ from the TV.</p>
