First off, this is a very warm boot with a 9-millimeter felt liner, cozy Sherpa pile cuff, stout leather upper, and wraparound rubber lower that provides a nice boost of assurance when walking through slushy puddles. Most manufacturers nowadays turn to synthetic insulation to reduce bulk, but the Caribou’s throwback felt interior is decently warm and adds soft cushioning around your feet. The liner is also removable, which is a nice feature to expedite the drying process should the boot get wet in deep snow.

The Caribou is an undisputed classic for all-around winter use, and the tall, 9-inch shaft offers more protection than a mid-height design like the Bridger Insulated (7 in.) above. But where the Sorel falls short is for walking long distances: The heavy build (3 lbs. 6 oz. for the pair) will feel much more cumbersome than the UGG Adirondack above, and some might even find it to be too much boot for around-town errands like driving and quick trips to the grocery store (Sorel’s Winter Carnival is a lighter-weight alternative). Finally, at $170, it’ll cost you almost twice as much as the Kamik Momentum, although you get what you pay for with Sorel’s emphasis on quality.  I'll put a link in the description and thank you guys for even considering helping these guys out. Now let's go over the boot information. So the brand is Sorel. The style is the Caribou Boot, The color is Bruno

 But me personally. if I'm buying this boot this big chunky winter boot, I want it to be a winter tank. I want it to be super heavy leather, really thick sole, lots of thick rubber so that I'm shielded from the environment. and I'm just not as concerned about the comfort for this boot because I'm not going to wear this boot every single day

 You can tell after 18 years the color is changing. I could put some conditioner on there so these are the new ones. These are the old ones, just slight differences. You can see the old ones this is yellowing just tad bit, but I think actually the color was a little bit different back in the days

 The way they fit on your feet is dynamic. They're not splashy, but there's enough room if you want to wear. what winter socks? the tread on them. insane

 I have a pair of ozark's that are the same style that are 12s and a little big on my foot. The sorel's were tight and would condense the insulation if I use them. This is an issue for me with a winter boot. I went to return them and the return shipping cost was very high, so a smaller family member will get them

The quality of the boots is awesome. My issue was the sizing. True to size and a couple of the reviews said it ran large. This was not the case for me

To have the lace up sorel's is a good size 14 fit but to have these, there is way too much boot that goes up your ankle, if there was less material it would be able to fit better, as you would be able to lace them up for a tighter snugger fit

I'm a crossing guard so I need warm feet. These liners don't accomplish that like the original felt liners did. Go back to those.

Warmth is good, as expected. The synthetic lining probably doesn't match the performance of the wool in my old ones, but what many fail to understand is that the comfort of your extremities has a lot to do with your core body temp and staying dry. Even the smallest amount of moisture leaving your skin makes a difference. If I keep my feet dry these work for me in sub-zero temps

Sizing runs on the money when using a thick sock. I ordered a half size down because I use a synthetic gym sock. There's enough insulation for me in the insert so I opt for a more breathable sock and wiggle room. Yes the inserts do tend to come out when you take em off

For me these are comfort footwear, not technical footwear. Around home, around town, ice fishing. Sometimes I wear em all day long. Inside and out

 Well, people recommended to size down, I usually wear a 10.5 (average, across multiple brands) I’m a solid 10.5 by Red Wing standards, so I thought, “they can’t run THAT big…” and you know what? They do. Absolutely

So, the thing is…

 They are conciderably lighter in weight as well. I have never worn the originals, so I cannot compare the comfort or fit. These Vietnamese Sorels are not the end all best in category like the old Canadian ones were reported to be, but they keep my feet reasonably dry and warm at 7000 feet. Only problem is by the end of the day, I'm craving BBQ pork noodles and fish sauce

 After a week of every day wearing, the felt liners have compacted so much that the fitment is now loose! I think everyone's feet are different, so there may not be steadfast rules. Trial and error. With wool socks, my feet are warm at the ski resort that I work at. Compared to the original Sorol boot formally made in Canada, side by side, the quality is greatly diminished
