Has just dialed and it yeah it handled those rocky downhill bits really well, so all in all stoked with the bike stoked with today's ride.

Check out the Specialized Fuse 27.5! It’s a little more than that, but you get a lot of bike for your money, and it won’t fall apart on you in your first ride like many entry level bikes. It has thru axles, Shimano hydro disk brakes, Shimano Deore 1x11 drivetrain on the newer models (I think it was 1x10 before), a dropper post, and tubeless ready plus tires! Really solid bike to get into MTB.

It is a 2021 specialized fuse 27.5 that I have had for four months. Rode it in the snow and salt for about half a month before I realized that was a bad idea. Picked it back up after all the snow melted and realized just how loud it is. It wasn’t this loud when I first got it.

I stopped by the Cannondale/Specialized shop today and they suggested if I'm adamant about getting a dropper seat post included OEM, the Specialized Fuse 27.5 and Cannondale Trail 3 SE are my options. Given the choice though, they advise against the Fuse and its wider tires and instead suggest getting a Rockhopper Elite or Expert, and then considering adding a dropper post aftermarket. I looked up the Trek's and it looks like a Roscoe 7 is the equivalent. Last time I had asked 'which bike' the options were all 2020.

Borrowed a large Specialized Fuse 27.5 and thought it was perfect. Really gonna come down to personal preference at our size. Some of the DH guys seem to prefer the larger bikes and go a size up, most trail riders I know prefer to size down when in between sizes.

They offered me $1150 store credit/$1000 cash, and I'm wondering what they would likely sell the bike for/what I could get selling privately. Peep my post history for a picture of the bike... 2020 Specialized Fuse 27.5 with some big upgrades (Rockshox Pike, SRAM G2 R's with 180mm rotors, deore 11-51, RaceFace Aefect crank/chainring, and a few other random upgrades).

It's more cost effective at this point to buy a new or recent used bike than to upgrade mine, plus all the modern geometry gains. I'd been leaning on a hardtail with the thought that I could get better at features and control, my region isn't crazy rocky, and had been hoping to go through my LBS. Unfortunately, everything is out of stock, so I can't even try bikes out to see what I would like (had been leaning on a Specialized Fuse 27.5 or a Cannondale Trail SE 3 29).
