Haven’t tried the Grip-Matic, but Mars micro? It’s from Staedtler not Fabar-Castell. We all know that japanese mechanical MPs are great, but recently I found out that Faber-Castell produces great MPs for low prices that actually have great mechanisms. The Mars Micro for example costs around 5$ , it’s well built and has a sliding pipe. But the the Grip Matic is the one that surprised me the most: it literally has the orenz nero automatic lead advance system for only 3/4$ . Did you guys know about these MPs?

What do you think is the smoothest writing pencil? Looking for some good ones for school.

 But since 1997, I've only used this mechanical pencil. After 10 years (in 2007), mine was confiscated at the gates of the Taj Mahal in India (they wouldn't let you bring any writing equipment for fear of graffiti).
