 So this is it. This is the SVSPB 1000. PB stands for ported box. This has a single port and it has a 10-inch driver

 Now that we've done with the ratings let's talk about how this compares to some of the other subwoofers that I've tested because I'm sure a lot of you want to know what do I think about this compared to the RSL SpeedWolf 10S and the Monoprice Monolith 10 and let's talk about those. So the RSL SpeedWolf 10S that was probably the most fun I've ever had listening to a subwoofer it just had a nice mid-bass that was just really really fun to listen to I mean explosions were even fun I just really enjoyed that mon or the RSL SpeedWolf 10S. Now the Monoprice Monolith 10 didn't have as good been mid-bass but it had great deep bass I mean that thing played deep and it played well deep and I think that's where it was mainly tuned and so that was really good if you like deep bass and quite frankly deep bass is addictive so that was fun as well but a different kind of fun it was definitely more business than let's say the RSL SpeedWolf 10S. Well this one the PB1000 I think slots right in the middle it's definitely more tuned for mid-bass than deep deep bass like the Monoprice but at the same time it's got a nice balanced sound to it and if you go dual with these I don't think you can go wrong at all so between those three if you're looking for a nice balance I'd probably go with this the PB1000

 This does play all those frequencies and so that's really good it does play deep but the other thing I like about this from a performance standpoint is that it just like I said it's balanced it's balanced in a way that a lot of subwoofers aren't and so you're going to enjoy yourself. Now one of the things I did notice after I calibrated was I had it set at about 75 or I guess 78 dB something like that THX and I did have to turn the volume up just a nut just a little bit to get a little bit more output out of it like I like to hear. So you may have to turn up just a little bit if you want a little bit more output but for everything else it sounds really good and if you're thinking about do I should I go single or dual I would definitely say go dual then you may not have to turn it up as much but it sounds really really good. Now the last category I'm going to rank is value and from a value standpoint I give this a 4 out of 5

 Now moving on to talk about the PB2000 versus this the PB2000 is a bigger subwoofer so it plays deeper and you get more output that's basically the main difference I think this is more balanced for those of you who may be wondering should I go with one PB2000 or two PB1000s I'd say go with two PB1000s versus one PB2000 mainly because it's just a better balance to be honest with you now if it's dual PB2000s or dual PB1000s definitely go dual PB2000s but this really does do a good job and quite frankly if those of you that have dual PB1000s this is just the single this is the only one that I have I'm kind of envious because this sounds great this is a really really good subwoofer and I've really enjoyed my time with it overall I really like the subwoofer I think it's a great subwoofer and it is for anybody who's looking for a nice balanced subwoofer under $500 now like I said there are some subwoofers that you can get for a little bit more money but if you only want to spend $500 that is your absolute maximum this is probably the subwoofer you want to get if you want really good deep bass go with that monolith monoprice 10 or if you want something that's just fun has a nice fun characteristic to it pick up that RSL SpeedBull for 10S but if you want something that's nice and balanced this is probably the one you want to get thank you guys for watching please like subscribe comment consider supporting us at patreon.com size home theater hobby use that amazon link in the description below we'll talk to you next time

First home theater

This thing bangs!!! Had two 10 inch woofers in both corners of my room and they sounded good. This single 10 however, surpasses them by a long shot. Makes you feel like you’re right in the theatre. This is my 3rd SVS product and they never disappoint

 Now you can do some control right from the back. There is an intelligent control panel with LED lights and buttons that's very intuitive and very easy to use, but it's not as good as being able to do it from the comfort of your couch, your actual listening position. So I sat there with my app on my phone and I was able to dial in the volume, the preset EQ curves, adjust the room gain, the phase of the subwoofers, and basically just change all the settings until I was very happy with the sound. He sets up the audio and video systems in a chain of movie theaters, and he told me that at the premiere of Ready Player One, the bass in the cataclysm scene required so much amplifier juice to give you all the bass in that movie theater that it actually flipped the breakers in his movie theater

I'm thinking about getting a Samsung q950a or maybe pre-order the Samsung q990b which is available for pre-order for 2,000.00 in the us. Or getting a nice av receiver for around 800 to 1000 dollars and getting a set of nice speakers for around a 1000.00 dollars.  Like maybe a set of jamo speakers. So which is best for my bedroom or does it really don't matter and if it doesn't matter is the jamo a good set of speakers. And what receiver should I that a look at

 While the original 1000 series may have been replaced by the new 1000pro series, I believe these are a better value since SVS has decided to increase the pricing on their other models by about $200-300. While $500 may sound a bit steep, just buy them, you're essentially getting audiophile bass that you just won't find in the $200-400 range (infact, there are still subwoofer that cost more than this one that aren't as good). If I could say one caveat, I do believe that this subwoofer and the SB1000 could be $100 less given that the old PB12-nsd and SB12-nsd were the same price and lower, and were between these units and the original 2000 series. They sound great with both music and movies and they definitely come alive when the source calls for it without being overpowering

 I have never heard a 10in subwoofer capable of doing what this can, and so smoothly (it's better than most 12 inchers on the market). Most subwoofers that I am more used to have peaks and then fall off a cliff starting around 30hz, this goes flat down to 20hz before starting to fall off around 17-18hz. While the original 1000 series may have been replaced by the new 1000pro series, I believe these are a better value since SVS has decided to increase the pricing on their other models by about $200-300. While $500 may sound a bit steep, just buy them, you're essentially getting audiophile bass that you just won't find in the $200-400 range (infact, there are still subwoofer that cost more than this one that aren't as good)

 The sub is articulate enough to work with most genres of music, but the sealed SB1000 maybe the better option for those that listen to music more than watching movies. I think that these subs are fantastic and would be a great addition to anyone that wants to get into having great sound (just remember to buy atleast two).

 I could run them much hotter than I currently have them but I'd be worried about things falling off the walls or damaging something. I haven't really noticed any port noise coming from them, which is a plus because that can really take you out of what you're trying to watch or listen to (something that plagues lower end subs). The sub is articulate enough to work with most genres of music, but the sealed SB1000 maybe the better option for those that listen to music more than watching movies. I think that these subs are fantastic and would be a great addition to anyone that wants to get into having great sound (just remember to buy atleast two)

A Great Start

 You know, I really expected to kind of not be super excited about them because of the size. I mean, it's just a 10 inch driver, but they have managed to pull out the power out of these and it's, it's amazing. So they've got the DSP in there, which EQs, you know, the, the frequency response. So the curve is nice and flat and it's, they, they do a good job

 I've put a microphone to it. I'll be putting up some test results on this page when I get it together and put it up. But you guys will be able to see these actually have extremely good performance under 30 Hertz. It's very good

 So you know, that's, that's the worst I could find on these, you know, they do quite well. I think they're, they're, I don't know, I can't find anything wrong with them. So, you know, in terms of a reviewer, you know, that kind of doesn't say much about me, but really they're fantastic. So if you guys are looking at these and you're thinking, you're wondering, are these going to be enough? Yeah, I had a massive 15 inch sub in here and you know, two definitely does the job a lot better than one and you know, what do you get when you step up in value and you step up in price, particularly in the SVS line? Well, you get more power, you get more, you know, driver, more chrome area and all that stuff makes the experience more convincing, okay? So if you get more power and you know, a little bit more depth and stuff like that, it just adds to the experience

 But in terms of how it did in my room, oh man, I mean, plenty and throughout that entire thing, you know, really cranking them and having them way too high, I still didn't hear any sort of misbehaviors or anything like that. So that is a pretty comprehensive warranty. So anyway, that's made me consider these to be the best subwoofers, you know, the smartest buying base. Okay

Reddit Bros! Recommend me a proper sub!

Recently upgraded to the SVS PB-1000 from a Martin Logan Dynamo 500 sub that has a higher MSRP and utilizes the same size driver. The difference is incredible! For the price, this is hands down the best sub on the block. If you are thinking about spending $250 - $350 on a sub, don't! Even if you can get a Martin Logan on sale or a BIC for a good price, You will regret not spending the extra money up front and getting this unit.  You can see from the specs that the sub reaches down to 19Hz

 I have a medium sized room but it is open to the dining room and kitchen. At half volume, and 0dB setting on my receiver the sub does a great job filling the room. It integrates nicely with my current speakers which is due to the units large bandwidth. I have small satellite speakers for my rear channels so it was important to have a subwoofer that could accurately produce frequencies in the 100Hz - 200Hz range

 Must be heard (and felt!) to be appreciated!  The large high flow port is on the front which makes placement a bit easier. I calibrated the unit in a few different places but opted for the corner due to my room restrictions. I have a medium sized room but it is open to the dining room and kitchen. At half volume, and 0dB setting on my receiver the sub does a great job filling the room

Well, the plate amp gets 25 watts more bumping it up to 325 watts rms And we get the cell phone app, which to me was a big shocker I never expected svs to be able to offer the cell phone app in the 1000 series subwoofers I thought it just wasn't possible without raising the price Um when they brought it to the 2000 series, I was already fairly impressed but kind of expected that this really took me by surprise So for those of you that don't know the cell phone app Essentially what you're getting is a huge quality of life improvement from the listening position on your cell phone You can adjust any and all features you'd ever want to adjust in a subwoofer I'll leave a list of all the different things you can adjust and as you can see it's quite extensive One of my favorite things within that cell phone app is going to be most beneficial to mixed system users Maybe you like to play video games listen to music and watch movies all from the same system So those of you guys that have systems like that know When your subwoofer is set up for music and then you put on a movie, there's not enough bass You got to go back there and you got to turn up that game And then when you switch to a video game, it's the same thing.
