 Hey guys, it's the VillainMan here and I have the new SVS SB3000 and PB3000 subwoofers in for review and during that time I wanted to do a few demo videos for you guys to help you understand how these subwoofers really perform. So stick around. So in this video I'll be doing a demo of the PB3000 and now since it's a ported subwoofer, it can be operated in extended and in sealed mode. In extended it has a frequency response of 16Hz to 270Hz while in sealed mode it has a response of 18Hz to 270Hz

My first Subwoofer ever SVS PB 3000

Not worth the money

 Could two subwoofers actually be overkill? Well this depends. For example, our home theater room is just 15 by 24 feet with 8 foot ceilings, and that's what we'd consider to be about a medium sized room. And we preferred turning down the bass just a bit in this room as it gave us more head room while still offering tons of output, and it never sounded like our speakers were being drowned out by the SP3000s. Of course, your personal preferences will come into play here as well, but if you want to crank them as loud as they'll go, just be ready for some serious house shaking bass

 In the end, we absolutely recommend using dual subs with movies. Running both subs with music, we didn't have to turn them up as loud to get the sound that we really liked, but as we turned them up though, we actually didn't like the amount of bass that we were getting. It was just a little much for our personal tastes and the kind of music that we like listening to. This is an extremely subjective topic

 It's pretty much like having an even bigger subwoofer without the drawbacks of a single, bigger, heavier driver. Now does it sound twice as good or twice as loud? Well no, but the bass is way more impactful. These subwoofers slammed hard without ever straining, while still holding on to their very precise, articulate, and effortless presentation. This massive increase in output though, does bring up our next point

 This is the SVS SB3000 subwoofer, and some people claim that it's one of the best you can get for under $1,000. Well, in today's video, we're going to find out for ourselves just how much performance you can really get out of this sub. And just to take it one step further, we're going to be adding a second SB3000 into the mix just to see if two subs are actually better than one. If that sounds like something you'd be interested in, then stick around and we'll get into it right after the intro

First home theater

 Just plug and give it a overnight worm up on a small level of vib through it and work your way up and it just keeps going. Yamaha receiver klipsch center paradigm mains and naw svs PB sub time to upgrade the mains to a high end bookshelf speakers. I didn't get the feet for the subs because you want to feel the bass if things rattle well get your room set up so it dont happen. If It was a downward firing sub i would suggest the feet for more room but you dont need them

 In the intro I said how impressed I was when I first heard it and let me just say that that was a consistent experience throughout my time using it. The movie was overlord and for those of you who don't know this movie, the sound in the first 20 minutes will leave you in awe. Watching it with the sub had me grinning like an idiot the entire time. The movie was full of low frequency effects of every kind and the sub recreated it all without breaking a sweat

 So I won't be using it like that any time soon for any kind of critical listening. But that all changed when I plugged those ports and enabled sealed mode. Doing that essentially made the PB It was tighter and more transient so the bass no longer sounded exaggerated and unnatural. It blended right into the system and that's how I would actually use the sub

 And that makes sense. They have more output and besides that they need more materials to make them. So if you compare the 3000 series to other modern SPS subs like the 4000 series and the Ultra series and the SPS subs that I mentioned earlier, you can see that the SPS subs are much more more efficient.  As you can tell it is a chunky one. The cabinet is not only tall but deep. So the size of it might give you a hard time trying to find a space for this bad boy in your room. Then there's the other issue

 I've had some bigger subwoofers in here that can't touch these little guys. Again, they're not going to go into any infrasonic levels, but given their size, I doubt anyone would think they could.  Jumping over to Chapter 2's first aerial attack, you'll hear a huge buildup of bass followed by some very hard-hitting gunshots. As the scene progresses, there'll be this pulsating 30Hz tone that just hangs there for about a minute or so. It'll shake everything loose in your house. The 3000s can produce a tremendous amount of output despite how small they are

 These little things bang hard around 40Hz, with some extension down to 20. I've had a couple ported subs in here recently for review. I'll leave links to those at the end of this video. The ported subs definitely pressurized my room at louder volumes and had lower frequency presence, but they weren't as tactile as these two together, and the explosions and gunshots felt like they hit faster and harder with the 3000s
