 It's not something I would like to look down on. It's also got a much lighter, almost like a matte finish on it, like a very non-reflexive finish whereas the P790 has got a bit more gloss to it.  Hello everyone, Joel here from Golf Monthly and in this video we're doing a special head to head comparison test with the new TaylorMade P790 Ti iron up against the recently launched P790 model for 2019. This should be a really interesting test because TaylorMade have incorporated some new design features in this iron that are really exciting. This is, as the name suggests, it's part of the P series so it's a player's iron but it is really designed for the kind of game-improver, mid-handicapper and that's because TaylorMade have incorporated a new titanium with this club. It's a really premium, high strength, low weight ratio material so with this metal that means that TaylorMade can make the face a lot thinner and save a lot of weight where they didn't need it and employ this tungsten weight here, this kind of back bar that slots in in the back of the club and I've actually held it separately when I met TaylorMade recently and it's actually really, really heavy

 It concentrates an awful lot of mass low on the back of the club head. It's actually up to 119 grams per club head on average which is nearly half the mass of the head itself so it really is concentrating an awful lot of weight where TaylorMade feel that it's most optimum in terms of performance. It's going to help really lower the CGA. It's got the lowest centre of gravity of any P series iron which should help give you a lot of launch, easy launch and also stabilise that club head on those off centre hits

► In this video, Technical Editor Joel Tadman tests the new TaylorMade P790 Ti irons, which will set you back just under £2,700 for set, up against the latest P790 irons to see how the performance compares and if there is anything extra to be gained by spending the extra cash. The original P790 iron by TaylorMade was a huge success proving that a traditional shape and top line could also offer game-improving distance and forgiveness. The new Ti version of this iron comes into the range and illustrates what TaylorMade can do if the price is pushed. In this video, Joel wanted to see whether that extra investment from the golfer would translate into better overall performace. He tested the P790 against the P790 Ti to find out whether it is something you should be considering.

 So you might wanna sit down now. These are two and a half thousand pound for a seven iron set. So about 360 pound per set, which is roughly about $440. So 360 pound per iron, $440 per iron

 So it is in that premium bracket. Titanium, so titanium hollow body construction with loads of tungsten, 117 grams of tungsten applied in this bottom section of the head, which is gonna help with, obviously, lowering that center of gravity, helping to get that ball flight up and away. We've got a speed slot in the bottom. But first impressions as I unwrap that, it's a nice looking iron
