TCL 32S334 Android TV

I only found a few instances where it happened but it was repeatable and completely unacceptable for a high end TV. As soon as I reported it they had someone talking to me just about every other day, filling me in on what was causing the problem, asking me what movies I’d seen it in, on what devices, letting me know what they were doing to fix it, and how to get a refund if I was unsatisfied. Customer support checked in on me every time there was a new development.

My main focus is movie/stream watching, but I also enjoy sports and casual gaming so VRR on the TCL should suffice. I care more about brightness in a living room, colors that pop, overall good looking picture. I’m scared of black crush or blooming, but I’ve also heard that can either be improved on or you return and buy again a few times till you get a good one. Pls let me know your thoughts!

I saw it at Costco today. The color and brightness looked better than most of the others there, and definitely better than anything else in the price range.

Then did more research to discover they have pretty consistent DSE. I chose to save money and play the panel lottery with the TCL R635 since it is cheaper, still has 1440p/120hz. Main reason though: Samsung would take 1 month to deliver (buying direct from them saved me a lot cus work discount) where TCL takes 3 days to ship. Would rather play a 3-9 day panel lottery vs 2-4 months.
