TCL 5-Series Google TV

BLUF: Main shows on Disney + crash when I try to connect Bluetooth headphones. Not sure if this is a Disney, tv, or android problem, but figured this was a place to start... I have a TCL series 5 Android TV. Just recently I tried using Bluetooth headphones for audio, works great for most of the TV.

The Google TV 5-Series supports Dolby Atmos audio, while the 5-Series Roku does not, and TCL made the 5-Series with Google a bit brighter than the Roku version -- although the company says brightness on both 6-Series are the same..The biggest difference is the smart TV suites

It is a TCL series 5 with a google OS. When I try to log into Disney plus it gives me error 83. All other apps seem to work fine. So far I have reinstalled Disney plus twice.

Similar early criticisms have also been leveled at the 5-Series with Google TV; Caleb at Digital Trends found his review unit to be on the slow side and ran into several bugs..TCL has already rolled out several software updates meant to improve performance and stability

The 5 series (546) is looking attractive due to its price, black levels, and having no OS and app conflicts like its bigger brother (646). The $300 jump to the U8G is worth it if you prioritize color accuracy, overall scene brightness and gaming the most. But if you like good black levels, good contrast, and motion features at a budget price, and you don't mind a little inaccuracy in color, I say go with the 5 series.

I would recommend trying to find something similar as an open box to stretch your budget if possible. Otherwise I really don't think the TCL 5 is a bad TV especially for a dark room.

I got a new TCL 5 QLED with Google instead of Roku. Roku has thoroughly annoyed me with their latest update - you cannot adjust any local or dynamic contrast (or any other settings) when game mode is on. That said, the new android Google TCL 5 series has an absolutely brilliant picture, amazing settings to adjust it exactly how you want, even in game mode.
