After a rocky beginning, TCL’s flagship Google TV is a winner

At the end of the day, TCL’s 6-Series Google TV is among the very best 4K TVs you’ll find in its price range and the sort of set that will keep owners satisfied for years to come. The company made an unfortunate mistake in shipping the R646 with half-baked software, but has managed to correct course in a respectable amount of time. The Google TV 6-Series is technically superior to its older Roku sibling in a number of ways — most importantly with that proper support for 4K 120Hz gaming — and it’s an impressive showcase of TCL’s Mini LED advancements

TCL google tv - still sucks

I have the 75R646, I returned the first one… and wanted to return the second one but it’s such a hassle. But the first one had the dirty screen effect that was dark and looked like this ((())) during grey/white screens. Second one has it but not as bad, but the second one also has bright spots around the edges and one corner. Biggest issue I have now is the jutter I get in apps.

It's a great TV with features that should please most people, and even though we tested the 55 inch model, the results are also valid for the 75 inch version. It comes with Google TV built-in as its smart interface, which is fairly easy-to-use and has a bunch of apps available to download, and you also have access to Google Assistant. It features Mini LED as its backlighting, which results in a decent local dimming feature

I have a 75" TCL 6 series tv. It randomly clicks and blinks its power light as if it rebooted.

I have the GoogleTV version of this same TV (75R646). Same thing happens. That relay is really loud and randomly fires off with the TV off (staying off).

I bought the 75R646 a week ago. I cannot get any 4K HDR titles to play via the HBOMAX app. It will play a single frame and then just hang out. I can seek f & r and it will update the single frame but then freeze again.
