 I'Ve used a few north face bags over the years and they've all held up very well so on the outside. This has a really nice 600d polyester. That feels like it's gon na hold up well to rougher usage while not being super heavy, and then the bag also has some really nice ykk zippers all throughout that seem to also offer a nice amount of weather resistance and then continuing along the outside the bag. Has a lot going on here, so there's some attachment points on the front

 That'S as comfortable as this back here now that was going to come in at a little bit of a higher price point. But if you're looking for something that has that clamshell style opening and it's just going to work very well for all different environments. And that's going to be a really solid option to keep in mind and then, if you have a little bit of a higher budget, the last option that i'll mention here is the air tech pack 2, which has been one of my favorite daily bags. That'S been released recently, and that has a really modern and sleek aesthetic

 To check out and so to wrap up, it's been a really great experience, testing out the borealis backpack over the past couple of weeks. The bag has been really comfortable to wear. It has a solid, build quality. I really like its organizational layout and it also has an impressive amount of space, and so you can currently purchase this on the north, face site or other sites like amazon, zappos or backcountry for about 90

 It just felt the most comfortable on which is most important to me. I wanted something for long term travel that I could easily access important items while packed full.

I'm looking for the ideal travel/comuter/hiking daypack. 

Yes I know I could get multiple packs but I only have money in the budget for one. This pact would primarily be used for bike commuting to and from work with the occasional plane trip and fairly regular day hike. My aim is a solid pack that can kinda do it all. Ultimately this is going to end up as my daily tourism/travel day bag when I visit Australia for a month early next year so it'll be out and about holding my daily gear as well as a small camera then. 


Please note that I'm not looking for suggestions for other packs. I've settled mainly between these two for their capacity and features.

 I only gave it three stars because the laptop compartment curves so drastically that the corners of my laptop bump the zipper, it is really tight to get things in and out of it. It's comfortable and looks great, but I would like more room. The unisex one is bigger but the straps aren't as comfortable now that I've had the woman's.

If you want to put something in here and attach it that way, maybe a jumper or maybe a you know a mat of some sort. We'Ve got a front little section here up the top

This is our front panel very similar front panel to the Recon pocket here for an iPad, a few other little pockets and mesh pockets. These ones little key clip here as well pop the keys on that so little front pocket with some organization in there and let's check out the main section so chunky zips on the main section, buttery smooth they just glide open, really effortless yeah, and that's something that You you really want you, don't want you zips, giving out on you, because it makes your backpack not that great

 I don't have much things inside here, but it feels like it's already really heavy compared to my other backpack, which is the Columbia Backpack. It's really, it's smaller than this, but it's more lightweight as well. So this backpack has this thing in the front where you can put shoes or your jackets, which I really, really like the design in here. This is what you're gonna see first, and there's also a pocket in the front right here

 Um, this laptop compartment is separate from the main compartment. I guess you can fit a 16 inch laptop because I have a 13 inch laptop right now and it definitely fits perfectly. And this is the Macbook Pro that I have. This is the 13 inch so there's also a handle on the top
