 Yeah, so that's more or less been my experience with repasting the thermal grizzly Cryonaut. Just to give you a bit of a recap, I did this after about two years of using the original thermal grizzly and it was just a decision that I made based on how I noticed my system was running a lot hotter and I felt like I needed to take my system back to where it was previously in terms of the thermal performance so after doing this we can clearly see that the temperatures have easily gone down by about 15 to 20 degrees Celsius which is actually very good and I'd expect it to keep at this point for let's say the next at least a year considering the kind of workloads that I use which is both gaming as well as 3D rendering and video rendering. So that's more or less been the video, I'd love to hear your feedback about this as well as your experiences so in case of any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below. Thanks for watching

 So it's something that I ended up having to work on and if you notice the more it thermal throttles, what you'll find is the clock speeds will actually go down to try and compensate with that or the power level will try and go down. So with the repaste I decided that I'll go with both a repaste as well as redoing the thermal pads that rest on the VRMs and the thermal pipes. So what I did is I disassembled the laptop. For a disassembly guide I'd recommend you follow the Bob of All Trades video for that but basically just had to take apart the laptop and there was a lot of cleaning and a lot of just general maintenance that I had to do to just get the laptop as clean as possible and try and get all the surfaces as clean as possible

 So for this particular system I was able to use a 1mm thermal pad from Amazon that actually worked quite well and they fit perfectly, you just have to do a bit of cutting to make sure that the pieces fit exactly onto the VRMs and any other components that are covered and so before you do that you need to make sure that you clean all the surfaces very well, make sure you have a thermal surface cleaner as well as the purifier and once you have those two you should be able to clean both the heatsink as well as the CPUs and VRMs very well and hopefully this gives you a better contact surface. Yeah so after the repaste I think you can already see that within Cinebench the temperatures have gone down significantly and now we are running at around 70 to 75 degrees Celsius as before and this is at the 45 watt TDP which means that for prolonged periods you'll actually find that your system will perform even better than factory performance however just because I've been running the Thermal Grizzly for about two years now, just over two years, the original Thermal Grizzly thermal paste had started fading away and I believe it has started drying out and once it starts drying out the thermal efficiency goes down significantly so you find that you might need to repaste it after one to two years depending on your specific use case, normally if you run the computer a lot hotter the thermal paste will dry out a lot faster so normally for maybe more high intensity workloads and systems and operations you'll find you might need to run that repaste a lot more sooner. Then here we also have the AIDA64 stress test so this stress test is running on the stress the CPU, the FPU, the cache as well as the system memory and here you'll find again very good performance we're keeping in the 75 degrees range at 45 watts TDP and this is actually very good because you can see the system is not flagging any thermal throttling or any performance issues and it's actually doing very well and I'm actually happy to say that it's gone back to the original state that it was when I first repasted the CPU. Even in games now the performance is significantly better, we're actually now keeping within the 68 to 70 degrees Celsius on Dirt Rally 2, it's not a very intensive game but I believe it's a game that covers relatively high CPU usage as well as very high GPU usage because it's more of a GPU bound game so it actually shows that the system is able to stabilize at around the 70 degree range while running games for extended periods which is in my estimation about 15 or so degrees lower than how it was before with the old thermal grizzly that had worn out over time so this is actually very good performance and it's basically taking the system back to where it was previously which is something that I think we'd all be able to appreciate knowing how these powerful systems can really be throttled by thermal limitations

 So I felt it was time to actually try and redo the thermal paste entirely. So that's exactly what I'll run through briefly in this video and you'll see how my performance before and after is. As you can see here, I'm getting about 86 degrees Celsius while gaming and with regards to more productivity based tasks like here we have Cinebench R23 running and you can see that the temperature is slowly going higher and higher and it's now running at about 90 degrees Celsius on CPU load only. Now previously while running at 45 watts I'd get between 70 to 75 degrees Celsius so this was also another worrying metric that showed that the system really needed to be repasted

 So that kind of told me got real ones. So after that, what I did was I just I opened both of them up, compared them to the one I bought on eBay, which was actually legit as well. And they all had their certificate cards inside. I had them on both

 But always use that verification card and go online and quickly do it. If it doesn't pass that verification test, return it ASAP. The great thing about Amazon is that has a good return policy. So you can easily just return and get a refund

 We'll do this for 10 minutes and then we'll come back at the end and look at the results. Now I've got a feeling this is going to be at least 10 degrees cooler. So let's actually see if it works, guys. Right guys, welcome back

 Make sure that the bottom triangle is lined up, guys. So it's in place. So the CPU is in place. Now let's use the thermal grizzly

 And then we'll fire it up and see if it made a bit of difference. I've probably applied this completely wrong. Right guys, welcome back after the install. This is the first boot I have to put in the new thermal grids of Kryonaut paste on

 As you can see, there's a tiny bit coming out now. So we're going to scrape that on. Scraping it across. Make sure we get a good, even layer across it
