Thermarest Neoair Xlite

Not the thickest pad out there, but I don't personally find myself bottoming out with my shoulder or hip, which can be a problem with thinner sleeping...

The next morning I held the deflated pad up to the sun and noticed that the initially opaque mylar insulation was falling apart and letting light through. I suspect this was a very gradual process over the last 4 years and I just forgot how warm it initially was. I'm not sure if most of the wear is from sleeping on it or rolling it up for storage. (I duplicate the way it's rolled when you buy it: fold length-wise into thirds and roll up the entire length).

I have a Thermarest NeoAir Xlite size regular and when I lay on it my arms fall to the side and off of the pad to the floor. The only way to keep myself off the ground is to clasp my hands up on my chest/belly which isn't entirely comfortable and I don't think I could maintain while sleeping.

I’m a cold sleeper and mostly sleep on my side and stomach. My budget is ~$500. My pad is the women’s Neoair xlite women’s version (R-value of 5.4 I think).

It works great in 3-season Colorado where the temperatures are rather predictable. Thermarest Neoair Xlite Women's -> Exped Synmat HL MW.

This was the first time I used it while camping. Plugged it into my 10k MaH battery pack, and with the vest set on low it lasted all night and kept my torso noticeably warmer even at that lowest setting. It gets downright toasty on high but only lasts a few hours at that setting. Nice thing about it is that even when unpowered, it's still a decent synthetic insulation vest.
