 This is going to be a fantastic option to check out and so to wrap up. It'S been a great experience, testing out the timbuk2 authority pack deluxe over the past month. The bag has been very comfortable to wear. It has a great build quality

 No sort of internal organization, but again just a great spot to kind of keep everything easy to find and then the last area that we're going to take a look at is the main compartment, and so this is a top loading bag. So it has the zipper here that opens up very nicely. It would have been nice to maybe have this zipper go all the way down similar to the quick access pocket that we saw a second ago. It was nice how this had a little bit of a wider opening, so you get a nice view

 Currently, what i have in here is my 13 inch macbook pro, but you can see how much space there's left over at the top, and i like that. The compartment is suspended off the bottom of the ground. So it feels like my device is going to be well protected if i happen to place my bag down a little bit harder so pulling my laptop out now with the compartment empty, you can get a better look at the inside, and so it comes up a Decent amount, so you should be able to fit a laptop, that's a little bit thicker, but i would worry about how tight the laptop would start to feel if you fill up the main area quite a bit, so not as spacious as some other laptop pockets and It would have been nice to have more of a fleece lining to help protect against scratching, but regardless with the amount of padding that you have here and the fact that it's suspended, it really feels like my device is going to be very well protected. While i'm running around throughout the day up next, we have a slightly larger admin pocket that has some nice internal organizational options

 So far, the bag has been really comfortable to wear. This is one of the biggest updates to the bag. Is this new system of strap that they have here? It has plenty of padding it's really thick and comfortable right out of the box and then on the inside. You can see it has these kind of ridges here that just provide a lot of extra padding and the material isn't quite as breathable as i would normally like to see

 This side pocket with a red little strap to put key chains, another pouch in there, a little top zipper. this one's not too deep. I could put all my little accessories that I need to carry around with me like a USB dongle. USB Drive pens

 This is I would say the main compartment for extra stuff that is not a laptop. The laptop goes in the third one, but here's the general biggest one. You have an area for 12 inch iPad or a tablet can fit in there or documents and then the main main compartment right here can't really see it but it goes goes all the way down and on the bottom here it's not that well padded so if you did have if you were carrying glass, bad idea to put it here at the bottom, it's gonna hit. There's no padding on the bottom of that main compartment and now the laptop compartment

 The cinch straps on the bottom of the Authority are impractical for extra carrying capacity. The straps are on the bottom so anything you put there (like a rolled-up coat, which won't fit in the thin pockets) gets dirty as soon as you set the bag down. If Timbuktu had a satisfaction guarantee; I'd be walking this back up to their store a block away. Since not, I still grab my old bag when I really need function and versatility

 The style is okay, but the pockets are thin and narrow, and really geared towards laptops and papers, not bulkier objects like snacks or gym clothes. It appears that someone decided the bag would look like a clean rectangle shape, and then compromised all the features to retain that aesthetic. While this bag is the same volume as my last backpack, the pocket shape limits is value for everyday use and as a travel carry-on. I really miss some features of my old bag, like a second exterior bottle holder (I used one for water, the other for a coffee thermos), and the convenient mesh pouch on the front for fragile items like a banana or a bag of chips

Looks okay, I wish it was more functional for work/travel

 Along the front of the bag, we have two easy access pockets, key fob, and along the top here, perfect spot for your sunglasses or your cell phone. On the side of the bag, stretchy neoprene pocket is perfect for your water bottle or your U-lock. The back of the bag features our air mesh ventilated back panel system with a removable and adjustable sternum strap to help secure loads. Your first internal pocket features organization and is roomy enough for some smaller items that you may want to access quickly

 I wish there was maybe one more mesh pocket maybe on the inside right here because these pockets on the front are quick access, but really not large and so even though there's a ton of space down deep inside in this pocket, when you pack it kind of tight, it gets a little bit, uh, tighter in here to access some items. So if there was just one, maybe one more of these mesh pockets right here, I think that would be a really, really big improvement. But anyway, super comfortable, very durable. Just a couple minor inconveniences, but I think in general this is going to be a really good option for many people who are doing some business travel or casual travel through cities

 I don't like the contrast on the black buckles because it's like silver reflective tape back here instead of black and so I think that's not a great look.  It looks brand new. It doesn't look like it's been on the type of trip that I took it on, but I did find a couple things that I did not love about it. Like I mentioned this in my first review, this bottle holder is not really big enough for anything other than maybe a water bottle. like a plastic water bottle that you buy from from a convenience store
