 And I know a lot of people say this might lean a little bit feminine, but I personally think it has a lot of gender neutral qualities with the patchouli, the vanilla, that slightly boozy aspect that it contains, the truffle note, a lot of those earthy nuances and the fruity notes, I think are fairly gender neutral as well. And so this one was composed by the flavor and fragrance company, Givaudan. And I can't believe it's been around for such a long time already. And when you think about a Tom Ford creation, with Tom Ford being the creative director and the brand owner, of course, you think about something that's going to push the envelope, something that's going to be a little bit different, something that's going to challenge conventional practices and norms

If I want to treat myself, I will splash this on after a shave. I really like this fragrance, it is the definition of moss. Tom Ford Black Orchid EDP - sweet, mysterious and not for the faint of heart.

 All those sort of dark, heavy fragrances, I personally wear all the time. And if that's what suits your skin type, and if that's what suits your personality, please wear it. Not everyone wants to wear citrus all the time. I certainly occasionally like a citrus fragrance, but I love very dark, heavy fragrances

 This always gives me mass tinglings. I consider this a fantastic, perfect formulation and this inspired me so much that this is the thing that pushed me from doing what I consider just like a hobby, which was years and years of just sort of blending and putting things together and making accords into actually making my first few fragrances because I was really fed up of smelling this on lots of people. And that is the only downside of it. I consider this a masterpiece

 I would hide flickering through this with neroli compounds, but not neroli. That is the sort of core, the sweetness that you're getting is from aroma chemicals, giving sweetness and light. For me this always sort of smelt sort of slightly jammy. I love fragrances like that

 I like my Onyx. I love Boss Bitch, which has now been discontinued because it's just too personal for me to sell. All those sort of dark, heavy fragrances, I personally wear all the time. And if that's what suits your skin type, and if that's what suits your personality, please wear it

I've noticed that I love aromatic fresh, leather, and vanilla accords, and I didn't realize this until I had smelled Eau Sauvage, MB Explorer, and Platinum Egoiste. I think having a top five or ten is important because I can stop collecting bottles from now on. If I need a bottle then it must be better than something on this list or my top 10 to replace it 🥴. I'm pretty excited to downsize my collection, manage my budget, and just smell decants. Cheers frag comm.

 Together with Terre d'Hermès EdT, I do think Black Orchid is one of the greatest mainstream fragrance launches of the past 20 years. It is a very demanding scent and so I don't wear it very often, but I always feel so seduced and intoxicated when I do.

Reached for an old friend today; **Tom Ford Black Orchid**. Such a gorgeous, animalic scent, redolent of a fumble in a barn under the cover of darkness; bales of hay and whinnying horses, heady white florals, dry vetiver and dirty patchouli, dark chocolate melting in your mouth. Together with Terre d'Hermès EdT, I do think Black Orchid is one of the greatest mainstream fragrance launches of the past 20 years. **bdk tabac rose** - not my favorite rose perfume at all. the opening includes plum and some pink pepper spiciness with underlying faint cinnamon but dried down pretty quickly into a mild and kind of forgettable scent

Tom Ford Black Orchid is my date night fragrance and has been for years. It's so dark and mysterious imo.

When I was 18/19, around years 2004-2005, I smelled Dior Addict in a department store and thought it was *the* sexiest, sultriest fragrance I had ever encountered.  
  
It was heavy. It seemed mature. It was a vanilla fragrance but to me, it seemed like sex appeal in a bottle.  
  
I immediately bought it and it became my date night fragrance.  
  
While everyone else my age was wearing Viva La Juicy and D&amp;G Light Blue, I was drawn to Dior.  
  
Fast forward to now, in my 30s and just leaving an Ulta Beauty, when I saw a bottle of Dior Addict, I had to spritz it for old times sake.  
  
And while so many memories flooded back, it just didn’t smell the same.  
The sexiness wasn’t there. It still seemed mature but somehow it was *different*.  
  
These days I’d wear it to a Christmas dinner, very, very sparingly of course.  
  
But I need something for date nights again.

Tom Ford Black Orchid. TF fragrances tend to turn my stomach anyway for some reason, but I took one whiff of this on my arm and immediately felt like I was going to throw up. I washed it off, but the scent stayed with me for a while after that.

While everyone has different taste, what is the one fragrance that you found repulsive the second you smelt it? I did NOT like Bronze Wood and Leather by Jo Malone when I smelt it personally.
