I use a topo designs klettersack for my weekend get away bag and love it. The laptop pouch doesn’t go all the way to the bottom of the bag so I don’t mind going out without my laptop sleeve like I used to. I really like the low key design and simplistic nature of the bag. Would definitely recommend.

I've done this with a 3L Platypus in my Topo Designs Klettersack. It doesn't fit perfectly and there's no hanger, so there's some movement, but not a huge issue if your bag has other stuff to sort of hold it in place.
