 In general, the inconveniences have been small, almost non-existent with the app just once in a while. I wasn't happy with the upgrade, but they took care of it. So if you're looking for quality grill that is easy to use, it gives great results, is deadly accurate, then I can recommend the Trigger Timberline 850. I've loved the time I've had with it

 Because it burns less pellets, it creates less ash, and it's a cleaner smoke when you're preparing your food. I really enjoy that. Another thing I like about it is, despite it's small footprint with the three racks it has in it, I can actually put more food in this smoker than I could in my larger one that I had before it. It will let you cook a lot of food with that three rack setup

 So if you're looking for quality grill that is easy to use, it gives great results, is deadly accurate, then I can recommend the Trigger Timberline 850. I've loved the time I've had with it. So if you get this smoker, I can tell you something, you'll love cooking it because you'll know that you can make it. I have a good woman, I ain't good looking, but I do some cooking

 I don't think they sear it enough. But just to test it out, I did some cooks with steaks and burgers right down on the low, firing it up to high temperatures and throwing them in. Now it doesn't give you the dark black sear, but it does give you enough of my artifact to give good flavor, and they were amongst the juiciest steaks and burgers I ever had. So much to my surprise, this makes a really great steak or burger all by itself

Looking at a Traeger for slow smokes, my friend says the Trager is not really a smoker, more of a pellet oven that imparts some smokiness. He said I would need a  smoke tube/box to put inside the Traeger if I really want a deep smoke, What's everyone's thoughts?

Traeger and smoke levels

I use these just to catch the trip from my grill, Paul Wall style. They work but are flimsy and bend easily, the do keep my small bucket clean so that’s good. I would like to find a cheaper option as for you toss this after so many uses. It gets the job done but still searching for other options

Better than nothing

Picked up my first pellet grill this last weekend. Cannot like it more.

 I saw these and figured they would be good to try and I am actually glad that I got them. They fit the bucket better than my tinfoil did. They are a bit hard to not bend when separating them but that’s ok because I pressed the sides out so that it would be snug in the bucket anyways. Removing this was much easier and cleaner than my tinfoil

Helps with cleanup

Timberline 850 here. I went with the Timberline because of the insulation and living in Montana. I've never had a problem with temps. I came from a GMG and Traeger is a night and day difference

So after a year of using my Weber Smokefire I started to have temp consistency problems and after three months of working with Weber to replace almost every part, they decided to just buy it back from me.

As such, I am now convinced to bite the bullet and get a traeger because I don't want to buy a cheaper smoker that may have similar issues so might as well spend the money up front and be happy.

That being said I am deciding between the ironwood and timberline series. When I consider both, the price difference is not a big factor because either way your spending boat loads, so my concern is more about proven success.

I know the ironwood is proven because it has been around longer and the design similar to their other models. I overall am looking at the big timberline though because I figure I may as well get the latest and greatest but am jaded after the Smoke fire that I may be buying into an unproven redesign that could have its own problems. 

Hoping this group could share their thoughts on the design and if there any consistent issues being experienced as online reviews are all over the place.
