If there's a UGreen Nexode 100W USB-C in the house, it can only mean one thing: a charging party. This half-pound brick has a long list of credentials that makes it powerful and compatible enough to charge nearly any modern device that needs a spark. Individually, its four ports provide an impressive amount of power. The top two USB-C ports max out at 100 watts, while its third USB-C port provides up to 22.5 watts. Lastly, its fourth port is a USB-A port, which has a maximum output of 22.5 watts. We tested each port individually with a USB multimeter, and found plenty of power to charge our MacBook pro M1, MacBook Air, Samsung S22 Ultra, iPhone 13 Pro, Google Pixel 6, Samsung Tab S8 Tablet, and Nintendo Switch. When completely loaded with four devices, the UGreen Nexode 100W's power capacity drops to 45 watts, 30 watts, 10.5 watts, 10.5 watts &#40;ports C1, C2, C3 and A4, respectively&#41;. This decrease does limit the ability to charge several high-power devices simultaneously, but it still leads the industry and is substantial enough to quickly charge multiple phones, tablets, headsets, and more. Additionally, it is compatible with all of the latest charging protocols, which allows the charger to communicate with each device in order to better supply it with the proper amount of fast-charging current. It also employs gallium nitride &#40;GaN&#41; semiconductor technology which distributes electricity more effectively, keeps the charger cooler, and allows it to be more compact. The UGreen measurers 2.72" x 2.72" x 1.3", making it one of the more compact four-port chargers on the market &mdash; and literally one of the coolest. Even when completely loaded with four devices, our charger maintained a temperature of 95-98 degrees F. 
Sorry to crash the charging party, but there are a few things we didn't like. The UGreen Nexode 100W can sometimes be a little finicky with high-end Samsung phones that support 45-watt, Super Fast Charging. A sliver of phones, like the Samsung S22 Ultra, can accept this amount of power during charging. However, despite 100 watts of power, we could only source 22-25 watts, which is only comparable to Samsung's Standard 25-watt, Super Fast Charging. Additionally, the UGreen has a very specific process for charging Apple Watches. The watch must be charged through the USB-A port, and only one other device can be charging at the same time. The latest GaN technology allows internal components to be crammed closer together. This makes GaN chargers much more compact, but the trade off is increased density and weight. At more than a half-pound, this charger doesn't sit in the outlet as well as it should. It can sit a little loose or unstable when under the added weight of multiple USB cables. This can be problematic if its accidently bumped. However, we still loved the UGreen enough to give it our highest award. It's powerful and can charge a wide variety of devices and accessories at the same time. Before making your purchase, we recommend scrolling the manufacturer's product page to study this charger's multiple power configurations. We also highly recommend a high-capacity USB or Lightning cable if you plan to charge larger devices.

 So in the box, we've got one wrapped charger and just a couple of instructions and leaflets I'll have a look at those in a minute, and that's it, so really not a lot in there. Now obviously we are in the UK, so you see we've got the sort of the bulky sort of three pin plug, if you buy in your native country you will have the right style plug adapter on there, and as we look at the back you can see that we've actually got three USB-C ports and a USB-A port there for charging, so this one 100W GAN charger can actually charge multiple devices at the same time, and one of them at 100W, so you can have your laptop on here, you can have your phone and your tablet all on one charger without the need to have multiple power packs for charging all of your devices. So let's take a quick look at what we've got here

 So looking at the back of the box, just want to see what these ports can do. The main USB-C one it's labelled as, this is the main actual port on here, this can do 100W of charging, the other two USBs and the USB 3 can each do 22.5W, so you know obviously you want your laptop in this top port and you're going to want your tablets and your phones in these others, maybe your camera or your Nintendo Switch, so what we're going to do now is I'm going to plug this in and we're going to just plug in a laptop and some different devices and we're going to give it a test. Now to get the full 100W out of this charger you can only use one port, now either the first or the second USB-C ports will give you that 100W, now if you plug in two cables, the first USB will give you 65W of power delivery and the second USB-C will give you 30W, so you're still getting quite a good amount of power for each of these cables to your devices

Great size but usb 3 doesn't work

 We have a laptop. We have two phones. This charger is charging all of them at the same time and it is rated to be a 100 watt charger. And as you can see, it is pulling almost 100 watts of power from the outlet and that is what it is distributing to all these various products

 So I don't like it when these things are not foldable. In this case, you can fold this and that makes it easier to put this in a bag without damaging the bag. So it's a nice, portable, travel friendly design. And you can see for everything that it is able to do, it is not a big product

 Now these two ports on the top are USB type C ports and individually, they are able to give you 100 watts of output each. So if you have a laptop that uses 100 watts, you can plug it right here or here and get the 100 watt full charging potential. On the other hand, these two ports here are for smaller devices. So you can use this for cell phone, this for laptop, this for tablet

 But these two guys at the bottom have a maximum wattage delivery of 22.5 each. So individually, 22.5, 22

S. Canada safety listing so we're limiting that market. So I have to say these two devices just really didn't uh didn't live up to the hype. They're expensive also so both of these power adapters were just way up the charts in terms of pricing so you're there's a premium price for these devices and yet they just don't offer the same quality level that other premium priced products are offering

 So they have the exact same model number but they have different part numbers. If you're new to the channel there's a whole series on these power adapters where I test them for the power in and out while also comparing them to other offerings. There are billions of power adapters in use and this series will help you make an informed buying decision since not all devices are created equal. So first we have this Ugreen one for all and easier life charger

 Both this power adapter and this one did recover so they both turned back on at the 5 volt mode without any problems there so you didn't have to unplug and plug the port back in to renegotiate that mode. All right so I want to talk quickly about these safety listings. These devices are rated up to 240 volts on the casing here and Japanese standard voltage is 100 volts so having a safety listing for a lower voltage means this device is not necessarily safe to use in higher voltage markets. It may be perfectly safe but they decided not to get the rating on this one

 Not for the United States and Canada markets at least. All right so first up let's take a look at the power numbers for the wall 100 watt charger and they're bad. Yeah it doesn't have the power factor correction so we saw that and honestly the efficiency wasn't even all that high either. It doesn't meet the DOE requirements so yeah this one's a hard skip

 These devices are rated up to 240 volts on the casing here and Japanese standard voltage is 100 volts so having a safety listing for a lower voltage means this device is not necessarily safe to use in higher voltage markets. It may be perfectly safe but they decided not to get the rating on this one. This one however they didn't bother getting any rating at all so we don't know if this device is truly okay to use in the world market or not and you know that's one of the issues that I've seen and the reason why I held off on doing this review for so long is because I knew that these power adapters didn't have that safety listing and I just didn't want to you know basically waste the money on a power adapter that I didn't really feel safe using and it's something that people should be aware of with these Ugreen power adapters. Some of them are listed and some of them are not listed and these larger 100 watt Nexode next generation you know super duper power adapters do not have that safety listings
