How to Use Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser

PM: Vanicream gentle facial cleanser (60 seconds) followed by bliss clear genius 10% AHA, BHA, PHA liquid peel. Followed by Vanicream Moisturizing Cream, followed by Aquaphor. Before doing this I was using just Cerave hydrating face wash both AM and PM, A curology custom formula (4% Azelaic Acid, 4% Niacinamide, 1% Clindamycin) in the PM, followed by curology gentle moisturizer AM and PM.

This didn't really irritate my skin but it did dry it out pretty bad, especially my lips. I switched over to the Cetaphil gentle cleanser that doesn't lather and I think I prefer that instead. My skin is extremely sensitive and every little thing makes tends to make it red and stingy.

 I would also recommend having a basic moisturizer to rotate with the SA moisturizer since you are using multiple active ingredients so it’s possible your skin is getting overwhelmed. Maybe the basic moisturizer can be used at night and the SA in the morning.

I highly recommend the vanicream gentle cleanser as your go-to nighttime cleanser to remove dirt from the day, and then just use the SA cleanser in the morning, or something along those lines. Ultimately, any basic fragrance-free cleanser will do the job. This is a very gentle face wash and doesn’t irritate my sensitive, combo, acne-prone skin. I can use it on my eyes, so it makes washing a simpler process. I also use it to wash my make-up brushes—but not great for brushes used for oil-based products.  The reason I gave it a 4 is because it isn’t great for removing oil-based makeup
