Yo all - just like you, I’m always searching for the best of the best monitors with the least amount of issues / caveats and now is the time for me to upgrade and I’d like your assistance!

I have been rolling my Asus PG279Q since it released back in 2016. This monitor has been the closest thing to perfection - great colors, performance, g-sync, 1440p, 144hz - except that recently started flickering on me and 2 dead pixels have been born so I’d like to get something new and possibly keep this one as a second monitor.

I currently have 2 contenders sitting on my desk:

AW2721D:

- Amazing colors
- Top notch motion / performance
- Stylish
- IPS glow / backs are very meh

G7 Odyssey 27:

- Amazing colors
- Great performance 
- Deep blacks
- Bulky
- Can have random issues such as flickering or judder


I am not 100% happy with either of these. Considering the price point I would expect to have 0 issues just like my LG CX in the living room lol.

I guess if I really had to choose it would be the G7 for the immersion in games.

So are these the current best monitors on the market money can buy? Should I try something else you find worthy? I would like to maintain 1440p, 144hz+, 27inch+

Excellent color repro but horrible text rendering

Great monitor except for the occasional screen flicker.

 Don't judge me, I just don't have time to learn how to play other games. I will someday play other games. Another thing I like about this monitor is that as a video editor for these YouTube channels that I run, it has good color accuracy. This was one reason why my initial monitor that had this setup was only 4K 60 hertz because I need to see the color accuracy for editing my videos because otherwise I won't know what stuff is going to look like in the content that I make

 But anyway, back to the review. The first thing I'd like to talk about regarding this monitor is its specifications and features. This monitor right behind me, the ViewSonic XG320U features a 4K 32-inch panel. Over HDMI, it is capable of 4K 144Hz, but over DisplayPort, that can be overclocked to 4K 150Hz

Out of the box SDR is dull

 Okay so you want my honest opinion after playing around with the OSD for a while it took some so long I had to find some buried setting under like five sub menus where I could turn off the power saving mode which finally got this to be reasonably bright. Just barely bright enough so that I can use it. Sure it's a nice monitor as far as refresh rate. I mean 4k 144 hertz able to be overclocked to 150 hertz
