 It's $10 more than the old A129 Duo at the time of recording, but it's fully $70 cheaper than the Pro 4K. So it's quite likely to represent a better value proposition, and that's what I'll be looking at in this video. And I do need to say thank you to Blackbox My Car for sending me this review unit to take a look at. I need to disclose that, although I haven't committed to saying anything particularly positive, as you'll find out

 I previously reviewed the A129 Duo, which was the sort of old version of this, and there is also in this series a A129 Pro, which is a 4K camera. This is a 1440p camera, so it's sort of halfway between the two in terms of specs, but in terms of price it's a bit lower. It's $10 more than the old A129 Duo at the time of recording, but it's fully $70 cheaper than the Pro 4K. So it's quite likely to represent a better value proposition, and that's what I'll be looking at in this video

 It has a very good value for money proposition. If you wanted better performance like 4K, high resolution, then you could step up to the A129 Pro, then you would get that resolution on paper. But it's quite a lot more money to spend, and I think if you were willing to spend that total amount of money, you might be better off selecting a different brand at that point. But if you don't want to spend that much money, then down where we are with this camera, I'd say it's fairly hard to beat

Going on a long road-trip with my family and it’s time for me to get a dash cam. The list in the sidebar is great but how do I pick one? Many of them don’t seem to specifically mention anything about audio but I feel that is important? I’m also thinking I want both front and back cams. Obviously less expensive is better if the cams are comparable but otherwise I’d rather just get the best cam. Thank you

I shopped hard before buying this camera, but there are quality issues

 Now in my car, the rear window is not ideal for a rear camera because the rear window in my car, you can probably see that is half tinted. So half of it is white, half of it is black, and it's kind of slanted in a weird way. So definitely not the best rear window for a rear camera. So of course this will depend on from car to car because all cars are different

Hard to install

I am looking for a decent dual dash cam that will work reliably. Problem, is, all the widely-recommended cameras have horror stories in the Amazon critical reviews: failures within weeks to months, do not reliably record, parking mode failures etc. When ordering my earlier front-only dash cam I made the mistake of going for one of the "usual" models (high image quality, a lot of features, but poor reliability) and it was a horrible experience: a wasted month, two failed cams sent to China shipping paid by me, and afterwards a partial refund. I do NOT want to repeat that experience. Then I bought a generic mediocre camera from a well-known brand and it still works five years later.

So basically, my specifications are: low failure rate, issue-free dual dash cam with decent specs (reasonable viewing angle and image quality). Budget is not a huge issue but I don't see why I should pay 200+ on a camera with the same horror stories as all the others. Hardwiring is preferable but not strictly necessary. Wireless connection irrelevant.
