 I also wanted to ease myself into this expensive appliance since I wasn't sure how much I'd actually use it. Also felt good about extending the usage of an appliance that may otherwise be sent to the junkyard/landfill. Love the wide container, although it does not blend small amounts well. I'm seeing now that the Explorian is one of their lower-end series. It's a shame you have to pay more than what I did for solid parts these days

 The Vitamix arrived and worked although that's a plus for AW and not the Vitamix. The Vitamix itself is just a blender. Get over it people. It chops, mixes and purrees just slightly better than the one that costs one tenth as much

I was perfectly happy with the $30 blender from [insert bigbox retail chain]. My wife wasn't. So now we have a REALLY LOUD Vitamix that cost 10 times as much - and that's from Amazon warehouse. In the past, Amazon Warehouse stuff has arrived non-functional or missing vital parts

 But come one, IT'S JUST A BLENDER. Get out of the cult of "Paid Way Too Much For The Vitamix" while you still can.  Oh. And by the way, anywhere near the max setting it's loud

 I returned it and ordered the Vitamix 1002 Vita-Prep 64 Oz Blender - similar to my old one. Hopefully, it will last another 10 years 😃.

 Because the fruit was frozen, the blender needed to reach max speed to make it drinkable. While the adjustable speed gets quite high, I tried pulsing to speed up the process. If I started with pulse, it didn't. If I increased the speed and tried pulsing - nothing

For the first 2 weeks of having this blender, I was beyond excited and impressed with the quality and functionality. Even at the high price point one enters into purchasing a Vitamix - a refurbished Vitamix at that - I wasn't disappointed. One day, out of the blue, the motor seemed to be having pronounced issues and the blade stalled out for no apparent reason. I was able to get it blending again after a long while fooling around with the mixture, however it has never sounded quite the same since and I definitely don't trust it to do the same job it was doing before

I don't want to blame this on it being "reconditioned", but its hard to not jump to conclusions.

Too Good To Be True

 Does not work well if there isnt enough in the jar, or too thick. My only issue is that the blending jar is already cloudy and rough textured from blending instant rice (dry) into baby food, and also from me scrubbing it with a rough cleaning sponge thinking the cloudiness was just residue. Doesn't impact the performance though and the price for refurbished was incredible for the quality of the product.

 But I am not as happy with the short, wide blender container. It takes me almost twice as long to make a smoothie. I have another machine that I've had for years. The container is taller and more narrow

Certified reconditioned vitamix bought a month ago

 I only hope that it works as well and lasts as long, but this is simply indicative of everything we buy nowadays, paying MORE and getting LESS.
