 The combination of the 51 tooth gearing, minimal suspension bob, and a comfortable seating position means that the bike muscles up the hills without the front end wandering. You do need to be a little more selective when choosing your lines though. This took me a little bit to get used to because I normally ride in dural bike or hardcore hardtail, but once I adjusted my style a little bit I was having a blast. It's an experience where the bike doesn't mute out some of the bigger hits so you feel more of the trail

 It has a conservative 66.5 degree head angle, 435 millimeter chainstays, and a wheelbase which puts it right middle of the drill By category, both 29 inch and 27.5 inch wheels are offered, but today we're testing the 27.5 inch option

 Second being the rear shock. While this shock works great on climbs and smoother terrain, when you get to rocky sections or high speed braking bumps, the back end has a little bit of chatter. I feel that the shock is made for riders with a less aggressive riding style, which does make sense since this is a troll bike. So if you're going to buy this bike, keep your riding style in mind and the trails you intend to use it on

You can get the highest end Vitus Mythique VRX (full suspension) for 2500 usd. It has nice components that can be upgraded when you see fit. It’s a mail order company but they get bikes in stock about once a month.

I am looking at getting my a new bike for both XC riding on my local trails and also more gnarly trails. At the moment I am riding on a older hard tail and can’t decide whether getting a full suspension bike is worth it if It will have low end components. My budget is about 2500 dollars. For that price I could get a hard tail instead with higher components. For my budget, I am worried that the full suspension bike id be getting would be lower quality but really am not sure. 

The bikes I am considering are the specialized stumpjumper alloy, specialized fuse, and canyon neuron 6. If anyone has any of these bikes or anything comparable or new to add please feel free to add your thoughts. Thank you.

Low-end full suspension or high-end hard tail

I am looking to get a new mountain bike and I am willing to spend up to 2100$

Right now I am looking at the Trek fuel ex 5 or the polygon d7. I probably want a full sus but am also open to a hardtail. 

Thoughts on these 2 and any other recommendations? 

I live in NW Arkansas so I bike Bentonville a lot and I am also looking for a bike that can handle downhill in CO.

Best Bike for 2000$?

For future reference… I ended up going with a Vitus Mythique VRX. Compared to Polygon T7, the extra $$ seemed worth it for the SLX/Deore drivetrain, more capable MT501 brakes, and Marzocchi Bomber Z2 fork/Rockshox Monarch shock combo.

Hey there friends! I am trying to get back into the sport after some friends recently dragged me back to to the sport and I was bit once again by the MTB bug. I rode pretty frequently when I was younger but my bike was stollen and haven’t had the cash to get a new bike.. until now!

Riding Style: I live in Houston so mostly will be doing flat single track at ~10-15mi per outing. There are some pretty good trails with solid features and I could see myself getting more aggressive on jumps, drops, etc as I get more comfortable again. Leaning heavily towards FS in order to future proof rider progression and allow for a good platform for upgrades.

Size: I am 6’-3” 190 and 25 years old. Recently rode an XL size Rocky Mt Altitude 30 (~515mm reach) and a L Santa Cruz 5010 (~470mm reach).. definitely preferred the XL.

Help Me Decide

A good pick is the Vitus Mythique VRS or VRX, both of which have won awards for value trail bikes, and owning a VRX myself I can understand why. You'd be hard pressed to find a better spec for the money, and the bike rides impeccably. Calibre also offer some very good bikes for the money, namely the Bossnut and the Triple B, both of which sre solid bikes. Marin also have a few good picks, the rift zone 1 and the hawk hill being the 2 choices for the budget, and both sharing identical specs, although for the money they probably have the weakest parts selection so far

im 6'0 220 and am looking for something around 1500-2k. Would like to eventually do downhill and preferably would like something with duel suspension

Vitus mythique 29vr

Dropper post adjustment. I want the dropper seat post a little higher but this affects the dropping mechanism, I am unclear of how to solve this, I would assume that the cable needs to be lengthened slightly but how do I do this without messing up the workings?

Front brake. The front brake is rubbing slightly (not continuously) and I am not sure why, it sounds like a brake pad is rubbing but I am unable to see the problem. I have tried adjusting the brake but that has not solved the problem

A good buy

 It rides brilliantly, coming from an older hardtail this is incomparable. I'm still getting used to it and doing minor set up tweaks. I'm smashing the Strava PBs (although strangely on the up hills so far, I guess the confidence needs to come to really let it go on the downhills). It's been converted to tubeless, CRC did a great job of pre-installing the rim tape, no leaks at all

Absolute bargain. Far more competent then I am.

I wasn't able to order the bike and receive it until later May 2020. (2020 VRX model) MAN do I wish I could have gotten it in March! I put over 200 miles on the bike with purely single track wooded areas with rock, roots, mud, dirt, ledges, jumps and all the other fun stuff. The VRX has been solid, it has not let me down in any aspect. I am a 6'6 200ld dude with BMX background and like the nimbleness, technical ability and like that as long as I point it at it I can go over or through the terrain

I've adjusted the suspension to my liking (out the box rear got soft quick) Front Bomberz have impressed me. Downhill rock formations are no issue. POINT AND GO! The adjustments or normal checks are needed to say safe and free from trail break downs. Enjoy the ride!
