 So first of all let's compare the two channels, normal and top boost side by side. We'll set each channel's volume to 5 and use the high input in each case so let's begin with the normal channel. Now compare that with the top boost channel. Sticking with the top boost channel we'll take the volume down to 3 to clean the tone up

 Here we've got the speed set to around 8 and the depth to around 7. We've swapped guitars for this Burns Brian May, I know any excuse, and used a Friar treble booster which we have linked into the chain to boost the signal still further, here's how the amp reacts to being pushed to the absolute limit. There we go, that's just some of the tones that are on offer from the brand new AC30C2. Vox tell us that it's the most versatile AC30 ever and on this performance they might very well be right so don't miss the review of both this and the AC15C1 in this month's magazine

 Now we'll up the volume to 9 for added drive and we've got the tone cut set to 8 here. We've swapped this lovely Epiphone casino for a warmer performance and here's the exact same amp settings we've just used once more. The AC30C2 also has an expansive reverb so with a cleaner amp tone here's how that can sweeten the sound. There's also a very smart onboard tremolo that can be switched in and out with the optional foot switch

It's amazing though with killer sound, tons of function, built like a tank, and prettier than any furniture I own. I adore this amp.

I currently have an Orange Crush 20RT that I may have to replace in the near future. It’s starting to have some issues, and it would probably cost more than it’s worth to fix them. Overall, I enjoy the amp and the tones I get from it, but I’m wondering what others might recommend. I’m still a novice player and am still learning a lot, but I don’t want to have a crap amp.

While I’m learning, I’ve found myself playing along to a lot of blues backing tracks and really enjoy that. Eventually, I want to be able to play more rock and hard rock. I don’t know if I’ll ever get to the point where I can play their songs, but Some of my favorites are Aerosmith, Metallica, Alter Bridge, Sevendust, AC/DC, Black Label Society, Foo Fighters, and other similar bands.

I only play at home, so I don’t need anything that gets super loud. I’ve never had the 20RT more than half-way up.

I also don’t need a lot of effects in it. I had a Line6 Spider before, and there were too many options. Something with two channels that I can put my handful of pedals (OD, distortion, chorus, and delay) through is perfect.

Since I do play through headphones at times, I like having an Aux In port.

I would say my budget is around the $250 mark, plus or minus a little.

<p>Edit: I’m 45 and just really getting started. I’m only going to play at home for myself. I don’t need something for gigging in the future. I don’t need top of the line. I just need a good sounding, solid practice amp for playing at home.</p>

[GEAR] [QUESTION] Recommendations on a new practice amp

Amp was in seemingly good condition until plugging it in and trying to crank the volume. The thing just wasnt pushing air and living up to expectation so I spoke with the seller Alto Music who ran me through a troubleshooting sequence. Couldnt figure out the problem over the phone so they granted me a return with full refund. Good company to deal but disappointed with the amp

 Now there is a master output over here as well so you can use just the normal volume which is like a preamp and a master here to control the overall sound Or what you can do is go into the top boost Channel and use the EQ to customize your sound just a little bit more. and this also has a volume for the top boost Channel and it still is controlled with the master over here now. I Prefer the top boost channel. the normal channel is okay, but it's not really as nice to my ear as the top boost

 That's just a whole opinion. I mean I'm not saying that grey amps are bad, but I reckon this left it for dead so let's take a look see what it's got. Now the Ac30 is sort of like a two channel lamp although you can t really use it as a one channel amp and what I mean by that is one of the inputs here feeds a normal volume which bypasses the EQ section here. bass treble and volume

 So we've got two greenbacks which is really cool. I've got two a B this with the blue speaker version as well as well as the hand wired amps and my friend and I were both shocked at how much better this model sounded and how much more versatile it was in the hand wide. That's just a whole opinion. I mean I'm not saying that grey amps are bad, but I reckon this left it for dead so let's take a look see what it's got
