 That works really well and this makes it great and definitely very portable. The grade is a plated seal cooking grate and you have plated steel legs as well. And they say you can get up to six burgers on there which we did get on there and you can definitely get a good amount of hot dogs or brats on there as well. Yeah, overall this worked great

Hey guys, so this is the Weber Go Anywhere Grill. so this is the charcoal version. There is actually a gas version. First off, the assembly is very easy for this, basically to install the grips on the sides and on the top

 so basically the feet that you're seeing there just flip up and then they kind of cover and keep the lid on. so then you can just kind of carry it by the top grip there. That works really well and this makes it great and definitely very portable. The grade is a plated seal cooking grate and you have plated steel legs as well

  -- Portability -- the grill seals and closes up well, keeping all the ashes, drippings, and other stuff inside and not on your car. It's so small.  -- Cleanliness -- I needed to get over the fact that grills will always get messy, I have a small dusting brush to clean it out real quick, because it's a simple design, the clean up isn't too bad.  Another great aspect of this grill is the lid. The lids got two catches on it where you can just hang it from the back side of the grill there. as you can see here, I've got charcoal over one side and I've got it open on the other. So we're gonna cook

 We have a sliding adjustable air vent where you can adjust the air flow into the grill has that feature on both sides. The Go Anywhere also has dual air vents on the top for air flow control. You can adjust both air vents during the cook and on the inside. We have a nice decent size cooking grid that measures 15 inches wide by 10 inches deep so it gives you plenty of room here

 Another, another interesting note about this grill is is when you're finished cooking on it, if you're carrying it with you somewhere or you're going to need to load it back up in the car and take it home, you don't want to load it hot, so when you're finished with your charcoal, if you dump your charcoal into a safe place where it's not going to create a fire or anything once that chart. Once that hot charcoal is out of this grill, this grill will cool back down to a comfortable temperature in 10 or 15 minutes. It does not take it long at all to cool down, so keep that in mind. It makes it really easy to take it with you somewhere and not have to worry about loading a hot grill

 These legs that fold up over the top, hold the lid on and allow you to pick the grill up and uh, makes it really easy to carry it with you. And when you're ready to cook you fold these legs down and they fold up right underneath and raise your grill up off of your cooking surface. And as you can see on the back side here there's a little clip that folds over and holds the legs together and it keeps the legs sturdy where the where the grill won't tumble on you. And on the front and back side we have air vents

Jumbo Joe vs Go-Anywhere Charcoal Grill

Not perfect, but a nicely made portable grill that performs well.

As far as taking it somewhere the only thing you'll need to be concerned about is what to do about the charcoal when you're shutting down. In my experience when you shut all the vents to snuff out the coals the grill will take an hour or more to cool down depending on ambient temperature. If you got that kind of time then it's no big deal, or if you're throwing it in the back of a truck a slightly warm grill won't be a problem. If time is an issue you could bring a small metal bucket with you and dump the charcoal in it and pour water on it to extinguish the coals

Absolutely love my Go Anywhere charcoal. I've used it for quick cooks and slow cooks lasting hours. You can easily pack up everything you need inside the grill that you would need for a cook if you cut the grate. 

Any one have experience/ thoughts on these grills. On either version, I was thinking on getting one for the times were I only cook small portions or for a beach day here in soCal.

Great little portable grill for two people max. Quality material and very easy to assemble.  Temperature control is a little tricky. The type of charcoal and amount used matters

I grilled in (about) 45-50 degree (F) weather with a little more than half of a chimney starter full of briquette charcoal and got the temp up to about 550 degrees inside the grill. Lasted for at least 2 hours before I decided to reduce the heat

I'm looking for a small barbeque easy to bring when traveling by foot or bike. 

I wanted to get a small kettle grill but came across many interesting takes on a "BBQ to go" like the "Son Of Hibachi" or double wall grills like the LotusGrill. But they all seem to lack a lot of perfection. 

Im wondering if anybody knows a small transportable grill that is plain good. (Max. 8kg weight, for 2-4 people)
