fast drive
Fast and lots of capacity and runs cooler than the black series. I ordered directly from WD and their online shipping status was incorrect. Customer service could not fix the issue however the drive arrived on time anyway.

Western Digital SN550 500GB M.2 NVMe SSD Review
Consumers looking to upgrade their machines from aging SATA technologies on a budget typically end up going for entry-level DRAMless solutions, normally powered by SMI controllers. We have seen many of these devices come through with the likes of the Biostar M700 or Silicon Power P34A60 having been tested. While the WD Blue is firmly positioned as an entry-level solution, Western Digital broke from the mold, opting to design their own controller with a PCIe 3

Fast performance for general usage Useful dashboard software Relatively low performance in demanding tasks. Conclusion. The 4-lane WD Blue SN550 NVMe SSD is a significant upgrade to the previous 2-lane version, though, performance-wise, it’s generally behind similarly-specced SSDs

WD Blue SN550 NVMe SSD Review - PC Perspective
The WD Blue SN550 is rated for higher sequential throughput than the earlier SN500, with top speeds of up to 2,400 MB/s advertised – up from 1,700 MB/s with the SN500. Write speeds vary by capacity, with our 1TB sample rated at up to 1950 MB/s (250GB, 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB capacities are offered). Pricing looks good for this advertised performance level, with a current retail of $109

WD Blue SN550 1TB Review Inexpensive NVMe Taking on SATA
We are unsure whether the unusual PCB layout of the WD Blue SN550 1TB had an impact on the thermal performance, but regardless of the cause, the thermals were completely acceptable. Decently low idle temperatures and a manageable 61C maximum should present no problems for most common deployment scenarios. Final Words
