From what I’ve ridden I’d say a Weston backwoods fits the bill pretty well- I have a split so not sure how it compares to the solid but it’s pretty awesome across conditions. The tapered tail gets a bit narrow for deeper carving but I don’t really do that splitting anyway. Real forgiving, easy to maneuver, good hold through ice, handles bumps and shit nicely.

Am I the only one that doesn’t seem to care for powder? I thought it was my undersized twin board that was making it no fun, but then I picked up a Weston Backwoods and rode this weekend. Found that surfy feel with a slight setback stance, and it was neat but almost too slashy for me.

However, If you aren’t as concerned with jumps, I would point you towards a board that will give you a little more float when there is fresh snow. Two boards I’ve really liked are the Weston Backwoods and Burton Flight Attendant. As for the Lib Tech, I broke one during a demo which kind of turned me off of them.
