Hello! I recently was able to get my hands on a Marantz NR1200 to move past just TV speakers.  Our living room doesn't have a lot of space, but I'm looking to add a pair of passive satellite or (compact) bookshelf speakers and a sub-woofer that provide me with sort of the best all-round listening experience for TV, music, and movies.  
  
So far I've been leaning towards the SVS Prime Satellite 2.1 System, but I haven't been able to find a whole lot about them beyond as a home theater specific applications.  I have also looked at buying everything separate.  
  
So far I'm considering the following bookshelf speakers:  

* Polk Audio Reserve R100  
* Jamo S 803  
* DALI Spektor 1  
* MartinLogan Motion 15i  
* Klipsch RP-500M  
* Bowers &amp; Wilkins 607 S2  

They're all a little larger than I'd prefer given the space available.  However it seems that's sort of the standard size to expect, so I'll find a way to work around that.

As for the sub-woofer, I've been looking at:

* Klipsch SPL-100

What are some good, compact, 2.1 speaker and sub options for all-round listening?

 If you like slightly "warmer," English sounding speakers, these are the best you can get in this price range.

The sound quality is really great. The only reason I did not keep them is that another pair of bookshelf speakers I auditioned had more detail in the treble and upper mid-range, were "airier," and did a slightly better job of sound-staging. My father had a pair of floor-standing Wharfedale speakers in the 70s. They were amazing

 If you can skip the turntable, or stretch your budget a bit, change the speakers out for a pair of Revel M16. Skip the cheapo sub.

If my username didn’t give it away, I’ll be listening primarily to classical and opera, though I enjoy jazz and rock as well. Given the sheer physical size of a full orchestra, good localization and an expansive soundstage are important. I spent twenty-five years literally in the room, and since the pandemic forced me into a career change, I’m hoping I can bring a little bit of that feeling into my house.

Sub-$1000 sound bar replacement?

So my SO just decided she wants book shelf speakers to sit next to our TV on the entertainment center. Right now I have 2 older technics floor standing positioned about as far apart as the sofa is from the tv toed in to the center of the sofa. Would it be a downgrade to get brand new better bookshelf speakers like some SVS primes or try and find something good that’s used but having them right next to the tv? I know the sound stage would be diminished but not sure if I should upgrade speakers and downgrade positions…thanks!

Upgrading or downgrading?

2 speakers plus an SMSL A100 amplifier. Those speakers offer extremely high value for money for £300 (they cost $600 in the US and still get recommended at that price), and that SMSL amp has both an analog line input for your phono preamp and a USB input for your PC.

Currently I listen to music using my PC with Bose Companion 5 2.1 computer speakers. Soon I'll be acquiring a vintage Rega Planar 3 turntable and would like to upgrade my speakers to use with both the turntable and with my PC for streaming music and films. I'd prefer active speakers, and would need them to be able to connect simultaneously to the turntable and PC, either by separate inputs or by connecting the turntable with cables and the PC with Bluetooth.

The speakers will be sat on a desk either side of my PC monitor, I will usually be listening close range sat in front of the desk but will also listen around the room when I have people over and listen to records. I am happy to get stands so that the speakers are not sat on the desk.

Budget ~£300. Don't mind buying used but would prefer to get something new in a sale.

Help with purchase advise for speakers to use with turntable and PC

I just bought a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO and I'm looking to put together my first real hifi system. I'm looking for some pointers on selecting an amp and speakers to get the best sound possible for the money. I have $500-800 left to spend.

I've come up with a couple of ideas so far:

* Cambridge Audio AXA35 and Q Acoustics 3020i or something similar
* Audioengine A5+ and a \~$100 phono preamp

I'm open to all of your ideas and suggestions. Also, some potentially pertinent information:

* a system that has an optical in somewhere would be a nice-to-have but it is not mandatory by any means, I can always add an external DAC later
* as for speakers, bass is important to me, although my room is not that large so raw power isn't a big deal. Really anything that isn't "bright." I was almost turned off the 3020i by this but apparently they do better on the low end than the older 3020s I heard a while back.
